More thoughts on NSBM

Yeah, I overlooked that as well. Branikald seems to be Russia's equivilant to Nokturnal Mortum. I'm pretty sure it's the guy behind that who's tied in with four or five other Russian NS bands...stuff like Seig, Rodovest...

I heard they have about a dozen releases and less than half of them seem to be well known. I'm happy with the two I've got so I don't feel like writing to the guy to find out more...

there's a staggeringly large amount of shitty/hilarious NSBM bands around these days (Aryan Terrorism) but I think the only ones worth listening to would include NM, Dub Buk, Temnozor, Hate Forest, and plenty of stuff from the Ukraine. Absurd and Pagan Hellfire aren't bad either. I just think most of the newer NSBM coming around is terrible.

I hold burzum responsible for all of the NSBM these days, even though the music has nothing to do with it. People were interested in what Varg had to say in interviews. Whats interesting, though, is that he tries to pass of his older song titles and lyrics as having subliminal NS messages.

Moonblood = not NS, ffs.

Absurd are generally considered to be the earliest out-and-out NSBM band, though black/thrash bands like Holocausto might contest that. I agree though that Burzum are probably most responsible for the NS 'movement'.
