Mosh or not?

I do not mosh for these reasons:
- because I am small
- and because I am not powerful
- and because I would imagine Moshing would impede on the Opeth-listening experience
 
moshing is the absolute most retarded thing ever, except sometimes i mosh with my friends as a joke if we think the band sucks
 
I mosh at opeth shows for certaint songs, hier apierent for example. I will say I HATE hardcore dancers at any show, I have seen far more people hurt from them then moshing and its just not fun IMO

No. Jumping is OK. Moshing[1] is idiotic. Let me enjoy the show, I do not need your elbows or kicks or whatever. You are not cooler because you do. You are not more "'EEVY METULLLL". You're just a jackass.

[1] If by moshing you mean the jumping and kicking and throwing punches at random in a circle that happens in a lot of metal/punk concerts.
 
I dont mosh cus its a sceene thing, I do it for the adrenalin high and to merge with the agretion of the music, which is why Im very selective about what songs I mosh to duing Opeth shows. I am against substance abuse and my high is from adrenalin and moshing/wall of death are the best rush you can get.
 
Depends on where i'm standing. If I get on, or near the rail, theres no way i'm going to lose my spot just to mosh. When i'm near the back or floating in the middle i'll mosh during certain songs. Its usually a ritual for me to mosh during Demon of the Fall though. All 4 times i've seen Opeth i've been in the pit for Demon. Its awesome being in the pit, then looking up and seeing Opeth shredding faces off.
 
I only initially moshed at the one I went to because of the area I was in. I couldn't quite push to the front and I didn't want to move too far back so I'm in the prime moshing spot anyway..also I moshed during High on Fire because at the time I thought it was pretty boring.

I'm almost sure that in a Metallica concert, a guy was doing the windmill or whatever that was. Smooching and getting freaky with his girlfriend through the entire Down set he was, and right after Metallica comes on stage and starts playing Creeping death, I get a slap on my back, I turn and see this guy doing the windmill with an epic concentration on his fugly face, and his fuglier girlfriend was watching him in awe :lol:

I still can't believe how stupid that guy was.
 
I don't mosh, primarily because my main purpose to go to an Opeth concert is to watch the band play live, and listen to their music. If you're moshing, 1. you're not seeing the band, and 2. you're not listening to them as well.

I could care less about mosh pits being at the concerts, because if you choose not to mosh, they won't affect you... just stand outside the mosh pit. However, what I do find annoying and distracting, are crowd surfers. When you're trying to watch the band, they'll come in your way, and you have to take your sweet time to look away from the band, and push them in another distraction.

I do headbang a ton, though :kickass:

P.S. I know my response is going to spark a lot of controversy, but I'm just voicing my opinion.
