They left MFN and signed to a major label if I remember rightly. Being on a major label is all about getting famous and marketable to sell units, otherwise you get dropped..
So there, smart arse :erk:

No man, MFN is a major label. You didn't read what I said earlier?
PL left MFN they never got dropped.

Didnt you read what I said earlier? "PL left MFN and signed to a major label." You obviously know more about it than me so I'll shut up now. :(
Have you ever been on MFN though? And did you ever tour with PL or have lengthy discussions with Nick Holmes about the music business? ;)

btw, I dont like Justin but (yes shoot me) I think Eminem made some nice songs, I like the rythm in it and its not that kind of stupid gangsta rap...

Talking about not metal bands I also like The Cardigans, Cranberries, Tori Amos, Diafana Krina (for the greeks hehe), Die Ärzte, Garbage, Placebo etc...

Yeah, I have to say I'm quite partial to some Eminem. A lot of his music is just so much more, i don't know...real than most of the other rap that gets attention.

I love The Cardigans :D
Other non-metal bands I like include The Cure, The Coral, New Order, some Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds stuff.

I don't think you have to be on MFN to know if its a major label o_O
I think any band signed to MFN would be in a very good situation.
We can keep this up..............

MFN were not a major label when I, or PL were involved with them. I know BMG have some control in them now but that is only since this year. Dont try and be a smart arse when you dont really know the score like.

ps: did PL sign to EMI to stay underground?

sweet mother of fuck

show of hands: could anyone who was actually signed to MFN please rasie their hand??

thank you

I'm signed to DIY, and so far it works pretty well. If someone from MFN reads this, he can click on the banner though, then go to the guestbook and insult us for making him waste his time

Well ok the reason I been going on about this is because of Nick Holmes said in an interview on MFN. Well, I can understand he might be wrong but this is only because he said it.
interviewer: So this is your second album with EMI, how did the deal come about? Were you looking for a deal with a major label?

Nick: Well Music for Nations were been taken over by Zomba anyway, which is a major label. I mean even independents are 9 times out of 10 a subdivision of a major anyway, because majors buy them all. No matter how independent someone is when they start a label their eyes light up when they see cash, you know what I mean, no ones any different to anybody else. There are not many people that will stick to their morals when it comes to cash, especially music business people. I mean, instead of rubbing shoulders with the Backstreet Boys we're just rubbing shoulders with Britney Spears in some areas now - or rather not as the case may be.

So I wouldn't know if PL signed to EMI to stay underground you have to ask them :p

Their sound or style whatever you want to call it was changing with One Second (with old label) so they have a bigger budget with another label and decided to be more experimental, so what?
Boy George and PL? WTF? o_O

I am wrong - you are right (and Boy George does the conga over at Club X on mallorca!)

Happy now?
