Well ok the reason I been going on about this is because of Nick Holmes said in an interview on MFN. Well, I can understand he might be wrong but this is only because he said it.
interviewer: So this is your second album with EMI, how did the deal come about? Were you looking for a deal with a major label?

Nick: Well Music for Nations were been taken over by Zomba anyway, which is a major label. I mean even independents are 9 times out of 10 a subdivision of a major anyway, because majors buy them all. No matter how independent someone is when they start a label their eyes light up when they see cash, you know what I mean, no ones any different to anybody else. There are not many people that will stick to their morals when it comes to cash, especially music business people. I mean, instead of rubbing shoulders with the Backstreet Boys we're just rubbing shoulders with Britney Spears in some areas now - or rather not as the case may be.

So I wouldn't know if PL signed to EMI to stay underground you have to ask them :p

Ah come on, Zomba having a controlling interest doesnt make MFN a major like EMI, BMG, Warner, Universal or Sony and that. So the jump from MFN to EMI will have been to further their careers, obviously... To sell more albums and get bigger, and who can blame them? Thats damn obvious so I dont get why you're arguing the toss :erk:

Katatonia. really bad singing and lyrics, of course, but they go beyond this with their numbing, sleep-inducing, boring sound. and every song sounds the same. but i can't really put my finger on what it is about their songwriting style that makes me vomit.. it's a mystery. Katatonia must be some sort of brain specialists who know exactly which parts to target to make me feel so sick and dizzy and make me want to die just so i'll never hear them again.

how do they do it? i cringe at the mere thought of them..
are you english?

Note: no "Antimatter" option in the poll.
yeah thats not on!
mind you its not on the ANTIMATTER forum and anyway who gives a fuck there will always be doom fans and death fans...me I like pink floyd and me mum
i reckon theres only one seriously underrated band in there though thats because they are disorganised fucks:yell:

maybe mdb but they did do some half decent stuff specially cry of mankind and a few others. shit since calvin and martin left though

agreed.
i stoppped buying their albums after "...%".
and imo it's not that much of an investment to re-institute Aaron's growls. stick to the good bits only lads.

Cradle of Filth and In Flames....but, since Cradle is not on the list, then In Flames. Many seem to be digging the new release but it's just not good IMO...at all. In the past, they had some great stuff.

And to anyone that says Opeth is boring live; WTF!? I just saw Cradle of Filth in Guelph, Ontario...quite a show if you're into that sort of thing. The lighting was insane and blinding, sparks flew everywhere, heck...they even had some weird monsters on stage and a woman dancing half-naked. Smoke, fog...you name it. I'll be the first to admit they have good music here and there, but this band is overly theatrical. Maybe this is what you call exciting....?

I for one couldn't care what the fuck a band is doing on stage. Hearing the music is rewarding enough. Seeing them play live is just a bonus!

I say this; if anyone finds a particular band's performance on stage to be boring, well...it's obvious to me the band is just not your thing. Look elsewhere.

spot on mate, I'm with you and Danny on this one! I bought The Light at the end of the world after the % one, and was so disappointed that i didn't buy The Dreadful Hour, which I still can't give more spins cause of the growls. It's not me think anymore listening to that stuff, like you Tool said, i don't understand it either why they changed the vocal style, i always thought Aaron's clean vocals were somehow decent, at least more than them growls. Anyway, i think the % one is fairly underrated, for i think it's at least more creative than some other stuff.
