I 's just wondering what is for you the most tecnical song
you've heard. Don't name guitar heroes stuff if possible
Remember There is more than one instrument...

Well thats bound to be something by Spiral Architect,Dream Theater, etc.
Unless you mean of all time in which case we're probably talking some J.S. Bach or something.
Either way,I'll imagine "All the Small Things" is in the top 5.
Eamonn

In agreement with DEP's stuff... that's just fuckin technical insanity...

And how the fuck can you judge this? It's stupid... too many variables, to many different perspectives on what is technical and what isn't...

Why do you like Darkthrone, phyre? I'm not attacking you but I am wondering...

Although I like progressive metal I don't listen to it much, as I have very, very little in that department. Dream Theater's "Metropolis part I" from "Images & words" has a long part that is very technical.

ok, try covering a crown song like "I Am Hell" by The Crown.. that's the only way you can see how techical it is (especially in the drums department).
The Crown can keep a song technically challenging without losing sight of the song entirely. Sure, I'll admit Cryptopsy, Kataklysm, and DEP wipe the floor with the Crown as far as "technicality", but a song with 10 riffs+ just seems a little jumbled to me. I think there is a very fine line between technicality and insanity.
Anyone agree? I'm no tknocking those bands.... there are some of my favorites, I'm just saying I think it'sa little more experimental than technical.

Cryptopsy is overrated in the technicality department, from what Ive heard (the And then You'll Beg album). Its just a million simple riffs and almost all of its in 4/4. Hard to write, but easy to play. Well, except for Flo's parts!

By technically you mean Guitar, base, and drumming. Theres also some awsume keyboard playing in some of these songs.
Spiral Architect - Insect
Liquid tension experiment - When the water breaks
Cynic - Textures
Dream Theater - The Dance Of Eternity
- metropolis pt1
Death - Bite the Pain or anything else after Leprosy.

I don't have a microphone or anything to record and post mp3s with, but I can play Back To The Worms on bass. That was the only song I felt like learning on that album. I have Phobophile on mp3 and I've learned most of the riffs on that as well.

I've tried to sit down and learn Dillinger Escape Plan songs, but I have no idea where to start. I only know like, the intro and outro to 43% Burnt. Anyone know where to find DEP tabs?

Spastic Ink makes all those bands look like newbs on their instruments, well except for Cynic and Spiral Architect. I've yet to hear anything more insanely technical, though I've heard many unknown bands much more technical than most listed in this thread.

2nd place goes to Cynic, none of the other tech-death bands have touched their insanity.
