Most Underrated Band or Bands

Philip717, Voivod is BY FAR the most under rated band of all time. Almost every album is a masterpeice.

The most under rated album by them is 'Dimension Hatross' it was FAR FAR beyond it's time in 1988. And really, still pushes the boundary of metal.

Darkseed - Their Diving Into Darkness album is one of the best of 2000, easily, and is one of the best "goth" metal albums ever made, and their use of electronic elements is so much better then Paradise Lost's it's silly.
Extol - One of the best tech metal bands, ever, plus they're death metal heaven......don't know how you can go wrong, but apparently a lot of people do..
Running Wild - German metal "legends" to the people on top, yet they've hardly ever toured outside of Germany.
Stormwitch - One of the best old school 80's metal bands, but noone ever talks about them. Half their stuff hasn't even been reissued on CD..

I agree with Samael being underrated- although Worship Him, and Blood Ritual are rather simplistic. Yet, Ceremony, Eternal, and Rebellion are masterpieces in my book

How about Neurosis? Been around forever, and damn interesting and good.

No one ever mentions Crowbar- by far the best Southern sludge sabbath influenced metal ( by that the US southern)

Thrash-wise, my fav style, I would have to say Exhorder, Dark Angel, and Kreator have never received the attention they deserve- especially Exhorder- damn they were good.

I agree with everyone about Samael
I personally think that Passage is one of the best metal albums ever made. A shame it was made the same year as other master pieces or I would say it was the best album of 96

Extol - One of the best tech metal bands, ever, plus they're death metal heaven......don't know how you can go wrong, but apparently a lot of people do..

well, extol is a christian band...so i dont see how they can be death metal...unless there is a christian death metal scene i havent heard about...:err:

but i like extol...

but anyway...for underrated...i say Mayhem....lots of people dont like them...but i love them

:Shedevil:

I have never understood how obituary were death metal..I know they are known as dm and always will be...but no blast beats, the vocals aren't deep at all, and they come off wayyy more thrashy than death..oh well..doesn't matter. They'll always be dm to the majority..just my 2 cents.

Death Metal wasnt always like how it is today.I perfer the older DM style myself, instead of this joke called DM nowadays.

As for most underrated,my vote goes towards Manipulated Slaves,a thrash metal band from Japan.Their second album,The Legendary Black Jade,is probably the best thrash album in the last few years.Go listen to the song The Way Of The Emperor and you tell me that it didnt rip you a new asshole
