Movies

Sin City is quite amazing. i hope the sequel is nearly as good.

so i watched the first 3 Harry Potter movies over the past few days, for the second time each after seeing them in the theatre. when i saw the first two, i had yet to read the books, and loved the movies. then i read the first 3 books, saw the 3rd movie, and said "that was my favoUrite book, least favorite movie." well no. first two movies are very good, but the third movie is a FUCKING MASTERPIECE. the camera work in some scenes (like in the Leaky Cauldron when Mr. Weasley and Harry are discussing Sirius Black) is up there with the best shots i've ever seen. i gotta see some other movies this Cuarón dude has done.

I was just reading about the Sin City - Recut and Extended dvd coming out next month

something like 23 extra minutes, and the stories are divided up into short film style segments, apparantly

The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He'd be damned if any of the slopes were gonna get their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright. So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.

Angel Heart

I'm surprised I've never heard of this movie before, pretty awesome. Mickey Rourke is a detective from new york, gets sent down to Louisiana by creepy Robert DeNiro, he gets involved in a bunch of voodoo stuff and Lisa Bonet. A bit of blood and gore, creepy atmosphere. Great psychological thriller.

War of the Worlds

pros: GIANT ALIEN SQUIDBOTS with their neat sounding HORNS OF DOOM and DEATH RAYS

cons: everything else in this movie, ESPECIALLY THE ENDING ahjsdf hjdkashjfkldhsajl argggggggggh

tim robbins and tom cruise should have switched roles btw

just watched this also ... not bad, certainly somewhat suspensful ... nice "Abyss" like sequence in the house with Tim Robbins ...

the ending was satisfactory

Angel Heart is excellent, though I wish de Niro was in it more.

Saw Magnolia this week for the first time. Pretty cool, although I don't think I'd have a desire to watch the whole damn thing again.

i saw Angelheart when i was eleventeen and all i remember about it is that it freaked the hell outta me. been meaning to see it again recently, but it keeps getting bumped down my Netshitz list.

"ooh, Navy Seals!!!"

watched some more Babylon 5 tonight... Zathrus is officially the most pathetic but awesome character ever.

and those annoying quiz "which Babylon 5 character are you?" I always end us as G'kar or Zathrus...

"Zathrus is used to being beast of burden to other peoples needs"

Brazil

waow. need to watch it again before making any further comments. my balls hurt. that comment is independent of the movie by the way, so does not count as a further comment. neither does that. or this. like this and like that and like this and uh. none of those. no. where.
