However, to be honest I don't really listen to "types" of music, I listen to band if i like them I'll listen more regardless of genre. There's no such thing a bad genre of music, just bands you don't like.
For me it usually comes down to how "produced" a song is or and album or more over, a band. I'll be honest I like music to have that polish taht good production gives something, I'm not like the rest of you who can listen to Mayhem(for example) and think "Wow, it's so underproduced, so raw, so brave" to me it just sounds like dirge.
Call me a philistine if you will.
