As a 30 year old father and husband, I'm embarrased to say that some elder family members gave me some cash for the holidays. I was thinking about getting an mp3 player. I have around $150 and can add my own cold hard cash to that if I need to. My question is - and I swear I'll never bring this up again - what kinda music player should/can I get? Thanks my pals!

Someone was saying something about Seinheisers or whateverthefuck they're called. Maybe it was JayKeeley. Apparently phones can get QUITE expensive, as in the several hundred dollar range. I have some Sony $25 "studio" phones and they sound great

I also need a new turntable.

I have a pair of Sennheisser HD 280 Pro and they rock. The band frame just started to crack though, which isnt a big deal. Probnably cuz I sleep with thtem on and put unwanted stress on that part. I dunno...my head isnt THAT big.

I have to reccomend the Creative Zen or the m:robe from what I've experienced personally. I also have to give the isuck a major 15 thumbs down.

so, whats the pros & cons of the ipod, and all the others that arent as well known?? My girlfriend's brother has one made from samsung or some other wellknown company and it looked pretty good. I dont know anythign about this stuff.

I have a Samsung LCD TV. It's pretty highly rated. I would trust anything else they make.
I'll also look into the Creative thing.

I'm personally very satisfied with my Ipod. It's either that or a Creative really. I have purchased both brand and even if the Ipod remains my #1 choice, the Creative Zen are great too.

Just get a fucking iPod, don't be a pussy anti-consumerist hippy pale-hairy-chick-loving douche who doesn't get an iPod just because. You will regret not getting an iPod eventually, but will just rag on iPods that much harder to make up for the fact you didn't get one and are upset about that.

You'll be that guy defending watever lame player they got as being more 'bang for your buck' when everyone else is quietly enjoying their luxurious iPods. Except the dumb people who break them.

i have a plethora of all things Samsung as well ... 2 LCD monitors, 19 and 22wide ... and a LCD HDTV as well ...
funny thing is back in the days when i sold electronics Samsung was the bottom of the barrel cheap crap ... now they are kicking Sony's ass all over the place. Love their stuff ...

Not sure waht they have on the market for mp3 players ... but I woudl suggest a audio/video protable device as well if you are buying one now ... with a large HDD ...

I have got a Creative Zen Vision:m . It's 30 go and perfectly ok maybe a bit large but everything else is fine. The only problem is that, sometimes, you don't even know what to listen to

tbh, I think both are good. iPod is smaller but has less features, no fm and things like that. Go and see the tests, they're really accurate.

I was reading up on the creative and it has a lot of features I like. One of the things I hate about the Ipod is the limitations on file types and the need to use iTunes. Plus if I decide to get a 60 gig, the creative is much cheaper.

DO NOT GET AN IPOD!

I have one and it's nothing but trouble, it only works when it feels like it. I'll we listening to stuff, then it just fucking stops. I restart it, and wow and error every fucking time.

Do not get an Ipod.
