My late christmas gift to you guize: Full song ready to be mixed

Anybody care to post a Drum and Bass backingtrack mp3 (I have no drum software :erk:) so I can reamp the guitars with a possibly suitable tone? I will upload the WAV's of the guitars for anyone to play with if interested. Thanks.

An early attempt. Fucking strings are still cutting out on export.

Just the first minute, hope that's ok. I have to go through and edit all the cymbal hits cos I'm using Slate ><

^ Sounds good both of you. GH's is a bit fizzy.

I had a short break and came back and realised I hate the snare, way too small and just didn't get treated right by mastering.

So new snare, louder master. Strings are still fucking up and now the cymbals are too.

edit: Ola do you mind if I use this on my Studio page? Once I get the issues worked out. I'm happy to use your MIDI if you want for the drums, I made this one yesterday and I haven't had a chance to fix the cymbals on yours yet.

edit2: And Onqel (and anyone else), please just call me Morgan. The C is there cos Morgan was taken, its the first letter of my last name.

In case any of you guys are still reamping your own takes, here is a backing track I put together for you: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/285689/Forum/ola-backingtrack.mp3

Bass grit may be a little too loud, sorry about that. It's 10pm and I had to hurry, so it was quickly thrown together.

Anyway, Ola, if you can give us some of those monstrous Recto tracks it would be greatly appreciated. I'll be able to actually do the mix then!

PS: The bass guitar is actually edited on my backing track, note-for-note. I don't know what happened Ola but towards the end that is some really sloppy shit that got through! Took me longer to sort out the bass than it would a drum track for a song!

Great track, awesome guitar playing, but...
Is it me or the intonation is :erk: ( I know it's not me...)

Dandelium' is killer.

Totally love the kick+snare+toms on Morgan's (i'm talking about his old version, not the last clip with the Sneap-ish snare).

Drums sound kinda messy on Zakky's but i love his guitars.

dam it goddamn thats some serious riffin cool song! my mix thanks to ermz for backing track!

Thanks, but just a heads up, Zakky. I didn't intend for anyone to use the backing track on their 'final mix'. It's only supposed to be a place holder for you to reamp your guitars to before you do your own mix. Also, it wasn't intended to be post-processed. I already did the balancing so you wouldn't have to.

Nah it's cool man, just mentioning. You don't really learn anything if you use someone else's mix! Though I think you might get a better result if you actually don't process the backing track there. It's very close to where it needs to be, so try to sculpt your guitar tone around it, rather than vice versa.

And agreed. Dandelium's mix is the best.... so far.
