My latest album cover art...

Thanks dan :) looks as though I have a lot of work to do to get anywhere close to your skills haha

Joe

Have you tried adding a shadow behind the fella stood at the front?

haha, yeah but it looked ridiculous and it took me a second to realise that the main light source is coming from the opposite direction! I think I need to put some more shadows on the whole thing really, especially the rocks in the foreground.

I'll keep playing about with it.

Wow, nice work! :)

I think a bit dust/dirt on his clothing would be cool and more "connecting"

Sorry if this is too offtopic/random/chocolate...how long does it take you to produce stuff like that? Also, are you doing this against payment or for the lulz?

My band is in dire need of an album cover as well as band logo.

Cheers man!

I've got another one that I've been working on recently.... It's a total Thrash cover. Not finished yet though - the man at the front looks too disconnected from the rest of the image which is annoying me. I tried to make it a cross between my style and Ed Repka (who did the classic Megadeth/Death and every other thrash band's art). Cheesey post nuclear war style!

Ooooozzzeessss Evil Dead.(the band):headbang: I like this very much. How do you go with fonts, do you create your own?

Hey man,
I do charge, but not very much (answered this near the start of the thread) and the only reason I do is because I have nowhere near enough sparetime to do work for free!

Each piece probably takes between 15-30 hours depending on complexity (sometime a lot longer... i'm STILL doing a shirt design for Sylosis which I started in December!)

Oh I'm sorry, I guess I must have missed you answering that question before. I kept scrolling down hoping for more pictures :D I admire your persistance...15-30 hours on a design would drive me up the walls :loco:

These covers rule. Dan has to much talent to be one person. He must actually be a collective of talented people that form a super Voltron known as Dan.

Really professional looking covers there. But you say you can't do it for free.. I mean.. doing this stuff for £75 and working up to 30 hours on a cover... that's practically the same as doing it for free :)

haha - I know! But if I did it for absolutely nothing I'd have people completely taking the piss, and I'd be far too busy. £75 here and there is pretty cool as it's just money on top of my proper job :)

I think what he is trying to say is, that its to cheap. And I agree.
£75/25h = £3 a hour.

all sneapsters will hate me for this post ^^

For some reason I thought the title of the first cover was "Djent City". Had to look a bit harder.

Very nice work though on both.

Yeah man, I totally got his post.

My last comment was trying to make the point that I'd actually be happy to do stuff for free because I enjoy it - but if I ask for a small fee it separates the people who are serious about me doing artwork for them, and the time-wasters who don't really need it.
