'N Crugu Bradului - A4 digibook

When I first saw the thread title I thought they had released a new even kooler version... yeah so anyway, if you don't have 'N Crugu Bradului YOU ARE GAY

you know, not to be a fanboy or anyhting but it just dawned on me how much NB really progressed with each release ... matured, changed and just got immensely better.

I cannot wait to hear what will come next ...

jewel case>>>digipaks, but the N Crugu packaging is really something special.

And the album still impresses me, and I might be the only one who really enoys Zirnindu-Sa

from the code666 forum:

Transilvanian Black Metallers NEGURA BUNGET started recording their new album scheduled for late march 2005 on code666,
titled "OM" ("man" in romanian).
Another concept-album, this time dealing with purification, part of a ritual to transform the listener into an evolved individual after it...
like the previous "n crugu bradului", "OM" will be released in a very special "never-seen-before" packaging,
including an exclusive DVD with a stunning music video of the title-track,
exclusive interviews with the band, Live-footage, making of the album and various unreleased material.

will go beat my pudd now ...

btw, I'm curious. What do you think it was that caused Negura Bunget to get so much more attention for N Crugu, than their 3 previous releases. The awesome packaging (though Masatru Sfetnic has cool packaging), or do you think it was the awesome promotion of code666? Or do you think it was simply that N Crugu is superior to their other albums?

i think it was a gradual build up from their previous ones ... while code does good promotion, the band themselves are good at spreading the word also.
this is why i like them, as they don't get trapped in that ... please don't listen to us mentality ... we don't want to be popular ... hmm.
from talking to Negru through email and his involvment in the scene, i know they truely love and enjoy what they do ... and stuff love that comes through in the genuine feeling of the music.

meanwhile they also realize that music is a "business" and along with their connections/friends in the Romanian art scene ... can create some fantastic packaging and other materials for marketing.

I had never heard of them until 'N Crugu, so I would assume it was due to promotion. I do like 'N Crugu the best, but Maiastru Sfetnic is equally as awesome.

Maiastru and Zirinindu still feel unfocused and pretty tame after repeated spins. I just can't grasp them, it feels like I'm constantly missing something and it just floats by unnoticed. I guess I need to really focus on them but I never seem to have the time :erk:

Read JayKeeley's review of Maiastru Sfetnic, he explains the optimum listening environment for it, and it does wonders. That album took many many spins to really grasp. Zirnindu-sa I've only listened to a few times, but really liked it and was easy to enjoy right away.

I got into Negura because of Appropriate Apocalypse (remember them guys?)
Now I have Zirnindu-Za, Sala Malska, Maiastru, and N Cregu in the longbox, duh, which has fallen apart.

I simply want a replacement leaf and some epoxy some I can hold the cd in place in my N Cregu longbox.

Plus, the music owns you all. In fact, I'll listen to them now.

That was a pleasant read, hats off for Jay. I will give it a spin tonight then I think. Btw, I didn't know Negru had a Ph.D. degree, I think I like them even more now :)
