I don't know...in a different genre, The 69 Eyes is a similar hit song machine. Neither of the bands could make a brilliant song to save their lives, though.

illnath. they're great, slightly more aggressive.

and then there's skyfire and norther.

ensiferum and insomnium has a more folk-ish touch, but it's still the "melodic semi-extreme metal with screamy vocals" thing.
