Name ten metal albums you can listen to over and over again

So far so good the album I've seen get the most votes on here is The Mantle by Agalloch. Must be pretty good.

I barely have the patience to listen to it in one sitting, let alone over and over. Its good material, but so unnecessarily drawn out and sparse.

No,that's actually the total playing time of all the 372 songs the band has recorded, and incidentally, the number of pages in my copy of the Old Testament:zombie:

Who would have thought 1337 would be such a diverse and exciting number? Not me.

Agreed, Pale Folklore and their newest are far more immediate and rewarding overall (or at least Ashes.. is certainly shaping up that way). But some people just fall in love with the Mantle, good for them I guess.

yikes. I mean even if you love In Flames, wouldn't you want some variation in there?

With a little work, we could make his list look like this:

At The Gates - The Red In The Sky Is Ours
Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus

Flare, if you like extreme melodic metal/melodic death so much, try the albums in bold type.

I've heard all of Soilworks older stuff, but I only own Stabbing The Drama. I have a mix of their older songs I long ago downloaded from the net (shame on me).

It's true, I love In Flames maybe a little too much. I have been trying to get into other bands. I'd like to hear some At The Gates, but I can't find any website or anything. I haven't heard much if anything about the other bands you listed DeathsSweatEmbrace.

You guys ever heard of Into Eternity? They're pretty good.
