Album/Show Update from Ne Obliviscaris:

“Hey Everyone,

My how time flies. By the time this show rolls around it will have been 11 long months since our last show! We’ve been incredibly busy over that period writing, doing pre-production and then finally recording our debut album. We’re currently in the process of recording violins & vocals and are all very excited about how it’s sounding, and to finally be nearing the end of the epic process that has been the creation of this, our debut album.

With recording nearing completion, we’re getting ready to hit the road again and to kick things off we will be playing a huge headline show in Melbourne on June 13 with Paradigm, from Sydney, and our good friends A Million Dead Birds Laughing. This will likely be our last headline show in Melbourne until the album comes out (late 2010) and so it would be great to see all you Melbourne people there. For all those in other parts of Australia, expect more shows to be announced shortly! – NeO”

Joining NE OBLIVISCARIS at the Northcote Social Club on June 13 will be special guests, PARADIGM (NSW), a fantastic progressive metal band from Sydney who will be launching their debut album ‘Symmetry (In)Sanity’ on the night. Mixed by jENK at L.A. Studio metalobsession.net recently described the album saying,
"...guitar work that ranges from soul-wrenchingly beautiful to jaw-droppingly fast. It is a roller coaster ride of irresistible head-banging, heart stopping melodic feel and mind blowing musicianship, all blended together in a faultless mix. I should probably point out that over the several bands and albums that I have reviewed to date, Symmetry (In)Sanity has received the highest rating so far. I do not give numbers this high lightly. 9/10" - MetalObsession.net

With the release of their debut album ‘Force-Fed Enlightenment’ just on the horizon, A MILLION DEAD BIRDS LAUGHING are a band getting ready to expose their wonderfully complex version extreme metal to the world. AMDBL fuses dark melody and brooding insight to deliver an onslaught of uncompromising atmospheric composition; creating a unique blend of extreme themes and influences. Be sure to get down there early to catch this remarkable band!

definitely thinking about swinging on down. good trivia - tom and jimmy (vocals and lead guitars) from Paradigm used to be in my old band with SMW drummer Will called Dessant, small world :)

Such an awesome show guys. Although there was a guy standing so close in front of me; if I headbanged properly, I would've knocked him out. My friend and I were waiting at the curtains the whole time, and we managed to get pushed back to around 1/3 back haha. You all are BEASTS at your instruments, and Xenoyr looks so scary :p but so incredibly metal.

He stepped on my hand!:hotjump:

Always a risk when you put your hand on a speaker that's right in front of a vocalist :-D Brings back memories of a behemoth gig *ponders* that's interesting, having stage reach for an international band.
