Ever since I first heard The Nocturnal Silence i've been relatively impressed with all their following releases. IMO they managed to deliver their trademark sound while continuing to sound brutal without much comprimise, however, like many bands you noticed a certain evolution of their sound over the years.

They are set to release a new album soon and presently have a couple of tracks available for downloading/streaming on their website. I have to say I was really disappointed in the material on offer. Are there any other Necrophobic fans around this place? It would be great to hear your thoughts:headbang:

Cheers for you reply Byrne, TNS was such a masterpiece I just had to keep buying the rest.

Necrophobic kinda got a bum deal I think. I recall interviews with Parland/Blackmoon saying how shitty the follow up was (especially the sound) even though he had written some of it!

Everyone was mad about Dark Funeral at the time so that could've had a negative impact. There was also a vast gap between the first 2 albums with only the Spawned By Evil mini with a bunch of covers on it - in between TNS & Darkside. Plus Necrophobic have always claimed Black Mark never gave them exposure beyond their debut.

All the ifs and buts aside, I was enjoying their futher releases up until now. It's a shame their talent seems to be forgotten amongst the swarms of bands flooding the market these days.

Oh and btw Byrne, your sig is the best Ive seen so far!:kickass: :headbang:

I have TNS and Darkside. Both are very good and worthy of ownership by fans. The Third Antichrist is on the way. I'll be getting Bloodhymns and the new one. Good stuff regardless of originality.

The Nocturnal Silence is awesome; unfortunately, they seemed to lose it after that.

I have just got around to checking them out and TNS is great. I need to give the other ones a listen still though.

All Necrophobic is good necrophobic.

The band is very consistant.

Yeah i was thinking that until I d/l those new trax - mediocre seems a fair description; judging by these trax they seem to have lost the venom that held them in good stead up til now.

actually Hrimthursum seems quite solid to my ears. Especially for a band that has been around for awhile they still have a strong aggressive edge, which cannot be said about the latest Dissection release...

Does your copy of The Third Antichrist have Sidegards artwork (inside the booklet) censored? TTA has a couple of filler trax on it - probably due to the fact they wanted to get out of their Black Mark contract - but the good songs are really fukkin good. Bloodhymns was a far more consistent IMO.
