I'm looking for a decent cam that can take great picture and film great. Shooting guitar videos with an old iPod 4 is not the best thing for YouTube anymore; I was told to look at the Pentax K50?

What I want is quite simple; not so expensive (idealy under 500$), to perform well even in a dim room, to be super clean (no noise), act as a webcam is plugged USB, have a remote for stop-motion. I'm totally noob.

I don't have an iPhone; the Pentax K50 is cheaper than an iPhone.
Also, Fuck Apple :p

That's not all I want to do, like I said, I want a remote and stuff (attach lenses);
this thing is waterproof

The Pentax K50 is a great camera i believe, but i don't think its entirely waterproof (its weatherproof, you can't submerge it). And why should you want a waterproof camera for youtube video's ...?

I'm a nikon user, so i will recommend you the cheapest/newest DSLR from Nikon: The Nikon D3200 (it can do 1080 at 30p) or if you can find one, a Nikon D5100 (it has a rotatable screen, great for filming).
Together with a Nikon 50mm f1.8 af-s lens, or 35mm f1.8 lens.

The combination (D3200 + 35mm f1.8) is the same price as the Pentax K-50, and it is great for video's:

I've been looking for the something similar. I'd love a gopro but I really hate the fisheye. I know you can buy replacement lenses but they're expensive and I'm too lazy to put one in. Does anyone know where you can buy them with the lenses already swapped?

What arvoitus said. I went down the D3100 route originally but it was a mistake as the screen is fixed. The rotable screen is a kicker for making your own videos, that and the f1.8 35mm.

Two cameras that have been on my radar recently. I have a Panasonic GH1 that I love, but it is old and I would like something smaller.

I would say look for these used to save cash.
The Sony RX100 has two previous versions with slightly different features etc. You can maybe get some hands on with these at stores like Best Buy.

I've a K30 which is basically the exact same as the K50 except a different body design. It's killer for the money, blows the Nikon and Canon offerings in that price range out of the water.

I shot this with the K30 and a Sigma 30/1.4.

Damm this really smokes the other videos on here. Your vid says low light, do you mean you used no other lights other than just what's on in your house or do you have some extra lighting on?

Goood for you, I am fully satisfied by the Nikon experience !

EDIT : I am impressed by that video ! It looks like a normal ad, from a should video camera ! Impressive
