Never gave myself a proper introduction/misanthropic rant thread

I just remember him posting a pic saying I'm so proud of my pecs etc then everyone laughed at him and said they were tits.

Kinda looked like Ryan VH? Maybe it was someone else.

ledmag = gone

... the good grillers died young. Onyl EricT's still here (I think)

*slaps you*

If I weren't working all the time and lazy, I was old glory for a while.

DERICK, I REQUIRE ASSISTANCE, I'M TOO LAZY TO DO IT MYSELF ANYMORE.

The idea is to slap them around without it getting so far out the mods clamp down. There's a line between skilled trolling and the 4chan style "find personal info that probably shouldn't be out in the open and flaunt it." Anything else is good.

Let's see... 18, Canadian, and bashing digital recording, pumpernickel bread, and Yamaha guitars... good to know I don't need to like you. Thanks for the early warning.

Jeff

I don't mind the Canadian part, he's not from Quebec.

...or IS he? Only Fred is allowed to be from Quebec and still be liked.

Jeff seriously, who wakes up in the morning and says to himself "You know what? I'm gonna start off by eating shit-lined mouldbread just to get my indigestion going, then get on my yamaha guitar and record my wicked awesome chordbeats on my Logic/Cubase/Protools/Ableton/Garageband/FL workstation and draw up some CRAZY virtual compressors and automation curves cause I like shit that sounds virtual and takes away from my dynamic range so that I can sound like Billy Joel/Jimmy Buffett!"

It's all crap. Invest time in a proper studio, and give seasoned recording engineers a job again, or at least grab some analog gear yourself and build shit up from scratch. All the chicks dig a guy with his own analog home studio setup. Especially if you get an API 1608 for your main board.

My hair is likely longer than yours, I went to school for audio engineering too, and I'm nineteen. Yet somehow I've never been struck with a case of diarrhea of the mouth to the point that I fill a year's worth of septic tanks in one thread.

Edit: I just lolled when I realized you're bashing digital recording on a forum where some hail Sneap as a genius.

Analog is of course the way to go if you're in a doom band or you're trying to sound like you just woke up from a coma from 1971, but digital is best for most others bands. Like my band.

People who don't like digital usually try to do things with it that you're not supposed to do. Did you ever stop to think that not everyone wants to sound like Morbid Angel's Where the Slime Live?

Just a head's up for future reference: chicks couldn't give a monkey's balls in hell about what kind of recording studio you have. Chicks don't care how good you are at guitar. If you're in a band of any kind that has a modicum of recognition, you will get laid and it has nothing to do with your recording equipment. Since my guitarist in my second band has his own recording studio and is a professional sound engineer who has toured Europe doing sound for bands, I can say first hand that he never got laid by saying, "Hey baby, wanna check out my big, new PA and reel to reel?" If he did say that, I'd never let him live it down.

Your argument about giving "seasoned recording engineers a job" is kinda the same argument as the whole downloading/record label thing. Who is going to pay for tons of time in the studio? Record labels? HA! Maybe if you're Metallica. That era is over and if you're not ahead of the curve you're already behind. Our album was done in an old abandoned house on the Austrian border where we practice using Reason and Amplitube. Drums were live but triggered. It was then mixed in the studio during spare time over the course of roughly 4 months, every other weekend or so. It doesn't sound like Metallica's black album but for an independently recorded album the quality is very good.

I'm sorry, I just don't see how your argument holds any water.
