I'm pretty excited for the new album. Very excited to be precise, it shall be magnificent.
I've always enjoyed hearing old Jamie get better and better, and all with a 002.... aaahh, the anticipation.
Opinions? I just can't get over Colors, hey. It is probably about 75% of my music intake, it's pretty unhealthy

yup looking forward to this as well, i really like colors, havent given the old stuff a proper listen, but colors is a masterpiece, think it will be hard to top

Their old stuff is nothing really like Colors. Personally I don't like it anymore (loved it before Colors came out) But there's some good listens there. Try these-
Backwards Marathon
Selkies: The Endless Obsession
Aesthetic
Reaction/Shevanel, Take 2 (fuckin' gay but I love them)
More Of Myself To Kill
Aspirations

Why's that? Personally I though it was such a massive step upwards in every direction. It's immaculately composed, brilliant lyrics, production, etc. Not to mention the best fucking bass tone I've ever heard

maybe that's all true but I dislike the harmonies they use since colors. this happy stuff and everything. just not my cup of tea anymore :(

Colors is impressive musically, but at the same time it bores the shit out of me. I think I've listened to it all the way through maybe 3 times since it's come out. The Silent Circus and Alaska are 2 of my favorite albums, they were exciting and had a lot of energy. Colors just seems to lack that energy. I am still looking forward to the new stuff though.

Fuck me, I've listened to it well over 2000 times hey. (tracked on media player, not including CD listens)
Pretty fucked up haha
I just can't get enough of it hey, I mean, when you can sit there and hum every riff of a 64 minute super-technical odyssey and not once does it cross your mind that you're starting to get sick of it.... hmmm.

Could never get into Colors, and I tried - always sounded like someone was randomly tuning a radio between Dream Theater, Suicide Silence, and TBDM, just so spastic and random

It seems so amazingly organized to me, with the exception of the first five minutes of White Walls. I seriously met one person, ever, who agrees with me on this topic haha

Nah, I knew tons of people who were just sproutin' chubs left and right for it when it came out, which made me scratch my head even more when I just didn't get it  But they all liked hardcore (or at least didn't loathe it as much as I did), which probably contributed :D

Interesting. Before Colors slowly destroyed my ability to appreciate music, I listened to a mixture of melodic death (At The Gates, Black Dahlia Murder, etc) and ETID-style rock. I played in a hardcore band prior, also, and spent alot of my time around hardcore. Never made a point of liking it though. I can't hear a huge hardcore influence in Colors though...

Eh, there's definitely parts that are breakdown-like enough for me to go :ill: But it has some good ideas too, and some great licks, I just wish there was a bit more structure to it all!

Ahh, my friend, there is structure a-plenty. It carries me on a violent cycle of mental replenisment. It makes me happy, then angry, then mystic, then furious, then sad as fuck, then brings me to a climax of joy and sexual gratification... and then it's over. Ahh. About to listen to it for the sixth time today.
