Procession - Destroyers of the Faith
Skyclad - The Answer Machine?
Skyclad - Irrational Anthems

you are on a Skyclad kick I see. have you heard Clan Destined? Martin Walkyiers other band. Had a guy from Immortal and some other guy. It is pretty good stuff.

Wow, yeah, it amazes me how some bands like Bodom and Cradle of Filth are still around. I mean their popularity has obviously dwindled in the US given how rarely those bands seem to tour anymore here.

Bodom are a fun band and are always GREAT live (Though the last time I saw them was on that Unholy Alliance tour they did with Slayer, what, like 10 years ago now?)

My guess is they have at least 3 or 4 albums I have never heard.

Its actually funny. Every now and then I will look up a band like them, or Arch Enemy, or the Haunted, etc on Metal Archives and realize they each have albums I seriously didnt even know existed.

I've only seen them once live and they were great. Pretty sure they tour more here than you think though.

The first three Bodom albums are a lot more than just fun for me, they're wild, intense, and exhilarating. Apparently the new album is a return to form, but I have doubts about that. They were always idiot savants and after "Follow the Reaper" became just idiots. What do you think of it, Simon?

So yeah, my deluxe box set of "Old Mornings Dawn" is fucking awesome and amazing and almost worth $70. Can't wait to fly my Summoning banner and wear the pendant with pride. Yeah, I'm a fanboy.

Don't know if I'd go that far, but it's pretty good. I actually watched it in a film class where we dedicated a whole week to looking at different aspects of it.

it is great for what it is. In the 80's I was a huge gore hound / horror movie nut. Still am but more selective now and I don't tolerate bad horror movies anymore. What I hate even more is the retro style like Hobo With A Shotgun and stuff. What people don't get who make these movies and watch them is that all these 80's horror / gore films and even from the 70's....these were not made that way on purpose. People act like it was made that way...nope..budget was a huge part of it. So when younger film makers make movies paying homage to it and making them bad on purpose it is like nails on a chalk board to me.

They will never be able to top that era ever. Christ...I remember seeing Killer Klowns from Outerspace, Nightbreed, Prison, and so many others in the theater when they came out with my dad. Now this stuff just is direct to video / netflicks and gets buried.

I got to talk to Stuart Gordan a few years ago for a while at a convention. He was really nice and very very humble. It was cool because usually he just gets asked about Re-Animator but I bought up his work with William Macy and he was so delighted to talk about that.

I like it. Is it as good as the early Bodom stuff? No, but it easily is better than the last few albums.
