New Deftones

a click ? ;-)
just kidding. yeah cla did a fantastic job.

alright here is an early try of diamond eyes i havent really finished...

Axe FX SLATE DEFTONES COVER (COOL BUT NOWHERE CLOSE,HAHA)

let me say that i stopped working on this, i was satisfied with how it turned out but at the same time is only like 50 % where the original is...
its pretty good, but its obiously not the same sound... also i went to loud on the master.. AND i just did this after listenign to the song on youtube, so i basically did this by ear. thats why the riffs sound different.

for the record : i got wayyy lcoser to the guitar sound later,
clips coming later.

Cool cover dude :kickass: It kicks ass dude! also what did you use for the synths on it that are in the back ground?

Dude! Details on this bass sound! Its so fucking huge, jesus christ. ALL details now!

thanks mate!

its my brothers ibanez btb , i dont know the exact name because its not here right now, but its like 800$ bass...
actually its massive for the lows, unfortunately strings were soo old, no presence there. my chain is what actually makes the sound.
despite the mastering chain (uad ssl4k (2:1 attack 3ms, release auto, 4 db gain reduction, + gclip + uad precision limiter) its basically 2 groupstracks - one distortion, on clean. you need to setup a recording track, route both to the groups.

heres the podfarm patch for the distortion channel

here is the cubase chain for the clean channel (you need the uad plugins)

this is what my clean chain looks like :

found an article in eq magazine about the production. go check that stuff out, interesting, used uad plugins - lotsof :)

There is no point in denying that most of us did get the "early" version of this album, is there any difference with the production on that version, and the released album? I don't mind buying it, but I'm not sure I want to if it sounds the same :D

Yeah, I'm interested in hearing if it sounds different at all, I like the way it sounds at the moment, but I did obtain it early :erk:

hehe, thanks guys. well the axe patch is not really as spectacular as you might think.
its the jmp model with scooped mids (mids are at 1.00 + scooping 400 hz -10 db :)

sry i dont have my midi interface here right now, but i think key to the sound is again the impulse i used + curve eq from the guitars in the beginning of "rocket skates"
impulse was redwirez mesa v30 U47 + SM 7. the sound i got is pretty ok, but im hunting for this roomy / 3dish sound carpenter has on diamond eyes. i know he uses t75 speakers,
but redwirez wont give me enough 3d..
