The 5th file you listed is a zip file. You have to extract it using a program like winzip or winrar.... it contains more impulses, including the one you're talking about.

How would I load the Friedman technique impulses to get the effect? Two separate instances of my convolution plugin? Or just two separate takes blended?

I dont understand what i'm doing wrong but I can't get the guitars not to sound all muddy and boring.
ESP LTD v200 with emg 81/85 - DI Box - motu8pre - 2xsoloC 2x7170 - boogex with s-highpres.
7170 guitars are panned hard left and right
soloC guitars are panned 80/80 and turned slightly lower
then boogex on a group channel
What the hell am i doing wrong? Could someone post screenshots of their 7170, soloC and boogex(or whatever you are using) settings?

I would use Boogex on each channel. You might need to EQ and compress each track, or the group of guitars. I like to add a touch of reverb (room algorithm) to the guitars too (on a send to an FX channel)

My apologies, I tried later tons of impulses found from net and noticed that Ryan's work extremely well with modellers and common preamps. Hard to beat or improve, period.
The "issue" with me came from my newbieness in the modelling sector plus I was testing impulses only with power amp outputs or with my own amp (multi-eq, unconvential pre&pow amp) where no particular impulses shine or raises above the other ones, it all depends (I mean the kick-ass factor) how I dial the amp.
I listen to the 2 clips on the first page.
Im not trying to insult but to wake up from this Guitar hero mentality. You guys played a total of 1 note--your low string--and your both saying the tone is so awesome. On one note? This is about the hundredth, 1 note, metal clip I have heard and I always hear how great they are. YOu do this right now...go around the forum and click on all the links and you will hear 1 notes on the majority of them--what the heck is going on? Doesnt anyone know any other notes?
