New Joey sturgis product DrumForge

I like what they have in it cymbal-wise, seeing a Megabell in there is cool, but the toms and snares sound really weird to me in a way I can't quite put my finger on.

I guess I'm intrigued. If it's another Slate style library with a ton of processing I'll pass though. I just want drums, not cho sounds.

The second point in the overview said you get processed and unprocessed versions, WAV, kontakt, trigger and drumagog formats.

So it's just a sample library. Thought it was going to be revolutionary damn it?!?!?!

The examples they posted aren't mind blowing. Decent. I dunno. I'll stick to what I already have. Too many samples.

When I first saw the video I thought it was a sampler with faders and stuff. Didn't realize it was a custom nki gui. Sound examples are pretty good.

Intrigued on the different room mic faders, that's a different approach.

The $249 is probably because of the amount of kit pieces/samples, when you look at $/piece, price is ok…unlike Slate-Bendeth mess.

However, there's nothing presented here that I couldn't achieve with SSD4 Deluxe.

I don't understand why anyone would want to buy a sample library from a guy that made an entire career out of using someone else's sample library...

I only listened to some snare and kicks and the snares overall sounded a bit thin, the kicks were alright. I'm not sure these drums would be that great for metal, would much rather just stick to Steven Slate tbh.

Personally I think snares sound good, not amazing, quite thin actually. A few have an odd tuning that doesn't suit my needs. I never use Slate anyway but if he spent this much time tracking these samples and crafting them why not do the same for every band he records instead of slapping the same old shitty sounding Slate? I just don't get it... Also who's that Joe Wasenek guy?

This just seems to me like a form of milking a product of off all those stupid kids on AE forums on Facebook that will jizz all over anything Joey related.
