Is it just me, or is anyone else bored by the new album?

The production's decent, riffs are there, but I'm a bit bored by how formulaic it is. Heavy riffs, mean Howard, then half-time chorus and singing Happy Howard. Repeat.

I've only listened to it all the way through once, so I'm hoping a few more plays has it growing on me. But after the first listen....

I have always felt that way about Killswitch. They definitely have their own sound, which is awesome for them. But I have never really enjoyed their music because I feel it is too predictable and they never go outside the box they created. Each to their own though.

Yeah, I'll second that

I loved The End of Heartache and the always before that, those were awesome!

I like the songs. I'm disappointed by the production. Does every fucking palmmute distort on any one elses copy? Jesus christ. Also, vocals are pretty soft.

I agree that this album does sound boring. It just sounds... lazy. I don't know how else to describe it. I get depressed listening to it.

I just find newer KSE to be so formulaic - wash, rinse, repeat. While what they do, they do very well - it's just seemingly gotten to the point that you know what to expect 15 seconds into a song, no surprises along the way, nothing that jumps out of your speakers and makes you take notice.

This band has gone progressively down hill since Alive or Just Breathing. The End of Heartache was a decent follow up album, almost as good as AoJB - but it's just gotten worse and worse (musically speaking, not talking about production).

Granted - this album will make them lots of money because it's exactly what the 12-18yos will eat up.

I think that song-wise this is a stronger album than "As Daylight Dies" but at the same time they will never top AoJB or even TEoH. It's just formulaic now.

It was always formulaic.

AOJB is just better cause it was the first time anyone really heard that stuff. It holds a different specialness because we associate it with "freshness."

That outta the way, I like it all. I don't care how generic it is, it's cool music to put on and just get shit done.

i think the reason the album is so boring is because we have heard it all before. They pretty obviously haven't tried to progress their sound - its almost as if they don't want to write new material but they have to.

At least that what I think....any takers?

but guise
DIDNT YOU KNOW?!
its heavier and more melodic than ANY of their other work!
SERIOUSLY
THEIR LABEL SAID SO AND ALL

kids, we've come to the conclusion that the new killswitch album sucks more than a triple cunted hooker over the past 3 or so topics we've had about it, can we stop beating the dead horse?
