New logic is out!!

i'm so jealous!
i planned to buy a new cab next week but now i can't resist buying logic 9, even though i don't need it without the cab+the redeye atm..
must..not..buy... :D
as soon as my money arrives it will be mine (evil laughter: hahahahahaaaaaaa) O_o

...

Wait, the apple store germany says it will be ready for shipping in 4-6 weeks :waah: :Puke:
The reseller says perhaps in september, probably later.
sucks.

you need the Serial number from a previous version, though it seems to be that if it is already installed then it doesn't ask you for the number.

hmm interesting, the macbook that i bought had logic 8 on it, the guy i bought it from claimed it was legit, i dont know....could i get away with buying the upgrade you think?

My upgrade should arrive tomorrow morning so i'll let you know how it goes with Logic 8 already installed.

in your situation, unless you got the serial number from the other guy then its not _really_ legit though, which sucks.

Did anyone else checkout the Orange amp demos on the Apple Logic website? The first sounds pretty damn decent, imo. Anyone using Logic used any of the amp models yet? I imagine they would be a bit more CPU friendly than Overloud TH-1 - might even be worth composing with them, and switching to a better amp modeller during the mix.

anything you'd like me to go through in particular?

im really happy with it so far, although i have a feeling that projects are taking a bit longer to open, and also when bouncing things off.

there is a ton of really small little changes tucked in that have really improved the overall package IMO

yeah, the audio editing is sweet - especially for drums. Slicing mode and transient markers is awesome, and its worked out really well so far, no flamming or anything weird going on.

I dont feel like im as quick as i should be in pt, so i cant really compare, but I think logic is really fast now for fixing stuff up now :)

I'm really enjoying the "notes" section.

No, really, I used to have a text open for that and would save it inside the project folder. Now it's built in!

Hi there, I want to upgrade from LOgic Studio 8, would you recommend me to make a clean install unistalling 8 or will it be right installing over the 8 itself???
I was thinking in installing the audio content in an external drive...

Thanks in advance guys.
Manuel.

With all the Hackintosh stuff getting discussed, I'd appreciate it if anyone I've helped set up a Hackintosh could offer to help potential converts if (erm, when) the usual FAQs and walkthroughs fail. I'm tempted to try that route with whatever is hot now, even if I'll just have to fix everything so it boots up into Fluxbox over X11 instead of trying to be a Disney animator's nightmare...

Jeff

Holly crap... I still have my Logic Pro 8 here, but I sold my MBP and am on a desktop pc now.... I think I'm gonna read about hackintosh :X anyone knows where can I find more info and tutorials?
