New Slate Digital Plugin

Looks cool, doubt I'll buy it though. Was hoping for a channelstrip EQ. Virtual Channelstrips should be his next move.

I doubt i'll buy it either. No need for other compressors here. I don't master the songs I mix, and already have a bunch of analog and digital comps.
Love the Slate's plugins, though.
I own VCC and Trigger.
Supported him from the beginning, buying his Samples 1.0 and 2.0, still use some samples...

But the lack of support is pissing me off.
I would def buy the Raven, but I'm afraid of the support of such an expensive (?) item.

Virtual Channhel strips, see you next year, on november (after Slate annual sale) or when he fixes the Trigger Issue.

Edit: Changed my SIG to see if he could do something about the Trigger issue.

VBC looks great, can't wait to try the collection out. I like the idea of combining features from different compressors as opposed to straight emulations. More within my reach than a Raven MTX anyway haha.

The RAVEN will probably flop because Slate isn't a big enough company to bankroll introducing something like that at a competitive price range - your Behringers of the world could manufacture something like that at a price point that remained relevant because they own big factories in China (and nobody would buy it because of the nametag) but in lieu of this Slates offerings going to be overexpensive for whatever market its aimed at - most likely forward thinking semi-pros or guys doing smaller label work because lets face it big studios are antiquated in their methods of approach and would never accept this sort of thing - even if it is the future - it took them long enough to all get pro tools systems when the digital revolution kicked in.

Thats not to say its not a good idea - in terms of methods of interaction we are definitely going in the touchscreen direction, it just won't be a gamechanger because it will lack the accessibility needed to become a mainstream success in the audio world - think about the iPods introduction - it was more expensive than normal mp3 players but the price point was still competitive enough to make the switch over to a more ergonomic system worthwhile - I don't see Slate being in a position to thoroughly push the same forwardness of concept over plain substance. A more likely scenario is that Slate will introduce this system and someone else will end up developing a similar system and then mass marketing it - originators or innovators of concepts are rarely the benefactors of them and I see this being the case more than anything else.

the third is the slate dildo, with vintage fat, and hard deep articulations.
199 starting price

nah, i haven't a clue. Hopefully a channelstrip EQ, some api and more ssl would be nice

I definitely want to try out these compressors, but my excitement is a bit subdued, because lately I've really dug in and discovered how awesome my Chameleon Labs 7720 is and how much it slaughters any software bus compression I've ever tried. I don't doubt that VBC will sound good, but it's gonna have to be pretty special for me to come climb all the way down off of my analog bus compression high-horse, haha. Also, I hope that the user will be given the choice to launch each compressor as a separate plug-in, rather than having to display all three at once...even if you can "power off" the units you aren't using, I just don't like that kind of display vibe at all.
