Opeth´s homepage has been updated and it says about the new record that it is estimated that the band will go into the studio sometime during Spring 2005. It also says that Mikael has contributed with vocals and guitar on some of the yet untitled Porcupine tree album. What it also says is that Opeth may find themselves without management.

Anyway I really can´t wait for the new album to be released, so I hope it won´t take too long after they have entered the studio and ´til the record is out.

At least they're going to release exclusive stuff with that live album

I see that they will be without a record label--but does that also mean that they'll lose Mr. Farrow as their manager? Or is he someone they have hired separately? I apologize for my ignorance, but I'll be the first one to admit that I don't know about the music industry.

Fuck man, I hate waiting that long for another album, I thought maybe they'd get their asses into the studio sometime this fall, but guess that's not happening.

I totally am greatful that Mike has decided to really take his time on this record to make it as good as it can be, and am awaiting this release very eagerly.

Patience, young leper....

I was expecting them to hit the studios Q1 of 2006.... being as Mike said it would be 2 years after the Lamentations tour.

But this is better.

Well I'm glad they fed an update to us starving for knowledge on the Opeth situation. I wonder if they'll go to a major label?? HAHAHA I'm just kidding, major labels prefer less than musical genius. Can't wait to hear the new Porcupine Tree.

At least, if they take their time, maybe it's to have some good ideas, to be sure we're gonna hear another masterpiece. Its easy to make an album every year but if your're not inspired, it wont be great so for me, to wait another year is fine.
i know a lot of folks were disapointed by the last 3 albums especially deliverance but i'M sure they'll do their best and this is gonna be something huge ( once again).

and with 7 others albums with 10 minutes songs, i can easily wait.

so we can expect new opeth approximately aug-sept. '05.
damn this will feel like an eternity, but it'll be worth the wait, and as said numerous times before, i'd rather mike take his time, and make it as great as possible.

It is likely that Opeth will put out an audio version of the Shepard's Bush (DVD) concert. If this becomes a reality, there will be some fantastic and super-exclusive extra features!
Maybe some goodies like produced versions of B-sides, especially the track that didn't make to Morningrise?

I'd prefer more live songs, including some older songs played live on Lamentations-tour.

Waiting for the next Opeth album is gonna be tough, but I'm just thankful that PT is coming out with their album in the fall and then, a new fucking TooL album. If its even close to as good as Lateralus, the time will go much quicker til the next Opeth opus.
