Had a large amount of vodka and other stuff. Shitty night though..

Family evening, feasting on fried shrimps, guacamole and nachos. Played Trivial Pursuit (won) and watched the end of "Ben-Hur" on TV. The chariot race remains one of the most spectacular sequences of cinema history IMO.
 
This new year I skipped the party and drinking bit all together, a wise choice since it never is much fun on new years eve in my experience. Instead, me and a friend greeted the new year with whisky glasses in hand. Before that we had watched Dr Strangelove and played Trivial Pursuit, which I won. After the magic seconds and the fireworks greeting the new year, the scottish brew got the better of both of us and we had a drunken discussion on litterature. Hence, this new years eve was the best in a long time :kickass:

The guy who was best man at my wedding and his wife came over. Started the night off with a an assortment of cheeses and a Pinot Noir. My wife made an outstanding dinner. My buddy brought over a 1996 Acacia Pinot Noir. We smoked cuban cigars (Trinidad Coloniales). Watched the ball drop, sipped some champagne and passed out.This had been our standard new year's eve ritual for a couple of years now. Quiet, laid back, enjoyable.

went to a house party, drank real absinthe at about 3am, had to have my g/f drive home as I was in a haze ... and now my farts smell funny.

party we were going to got cancelled, ended up driving to the city to meet a girl and barely getting there in time to watch the fireworks...it was crowded and pretty meh. came back to my buddy's house, got drunk, did not score. overall i give it a 4.5
