NFL 2009

I'm not done basking in the glory that is Super Bowl XLIII quite yet, actually.

Well.. there's still an entire offseason to go... making predictions now is retarded.
New England, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh have to be the clear favorites right now, but we have no idea what could happen in the 7 fucking months until the season stars....

I am glad the season is over. It's gonna take me this whole off-season to muster up any excitement for the 2009 Chargers. Disappointment gets old, and when you're a Charger's fan, it's something you see a lot. And we don't even have a SB Ring to point to (ever) to make it at least sting less.

I have always wanted the Cardinals to do well, and this season have become a little more interested. But I will not switch teams because my loyalty to the Bolts is a part of me, not just some choice.

I think at this point I am looking forward to 2009 Fantasy Football more than anything else.

Let's get some DRAFT discussion going. Who is your team and what do you think the team needs to do?

Ravens here. We most certainly need a big, physical receiver and a corner. Chris McAlister is 31 and plagued by injuries. Derrick Mason isn't getting any younger either. Rolle too.

Ramses Barden from Cal Poly is a name that Ravens fans have been throwing out on a Ravens forum I visit on occasion. He's 6'6" 227. He's not a burner but he is huge. Should be available in the 4th or 5th round.

As for corners, D.J. Moore (5'10" 185, Vanderbilt) and Sean Smith (6'2" 215, Utah) are names that have been popping up. Kiper has us taking Moore in the first round. Sean Smith is probably a 2nd rounder.

Personally I would love to get Hakeem Nicks (6'1" 215, North Carolina) but he may not fall to us. He was ridiculous against WVU.

San Diego needs a running game back. I hope they keep LT and work on improving their running strategy. We got rid of full-back Lorenzo Neal and changed our plan, and had a crap year for running. LT's injuries didn't help, but it was more than that. A dual running attack with LT and Sproles could be an answer, if they can get the blocking they need.

I have no idea what we need to draft.

Yeah, I got you... but the notion that we could even smell the Super Bowl next year is laughable at best. 9-7 and laughing stock of the league again next year... huzzah.

At least the Stars and Mavericks are playing well.
I'll be so pissed off at the Rangers being 10 games out of the playoff race by the start of football season that I'll get some psuedo optimism come August.
Optimism that will not be dashed until we go 1-3 in December

I can't help but be optimistic that by the time the Reg season starts the Boys will have gelled or something, a leader steps up etc.

The only years I didn't even bother gathering optimism was when our trio was Carter, Hambrick, and Galloway.

Yeah... I'm sure they'll gel.
Hopefully our fearless leader, Wade Phillips, will rally the troops.
Though, I'm sure we'll become a little less enthused the first time he drools on himself during a game.
