NFL 2014

Eagles sign Malcom Jenkins to a three year deal. Meh. I don't have too strong of a feeling on this signing. He's better than what we've had at safety and I do like that he has coverage skills, but from what I've seen he's not the best tackler. But he's still relatively young so we'll see.

And LOL at the Cowboys cutting Ware.

I don't want to discredit Ware in any way, but he was going to be 32 when the 2014 season started. He's been hobbled for the last two years. 32 is like 100 in NFL years. Austin is also finally gone thank you jeebus.

Crawford, Selvie, and hopefully some new meaningful additions will put some everyman attitude in that line. Maybe Melton and a high motor big bodied DT in the draft.

Of course, it doesn't matter who is going after Eli, he's probably going down behind that line :p

It's one of the first notably smart FA decisions the Jerry run Cowboys have made without Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells were at the helm. Why laugh?

Uh no. They never would of had to cut him in the first place if Jerry hadn't botched the cap for years on end. He had one semi-down year, but he's far from washed up. Bottom line is the Cowboys are worse than they were before, just lost their defensive leader and franchise cornerstone, and still have no money. Lol.

Saints signed jairus byrd - with what fucking money?

edit: brilliant signing regardless - a legit playmaker in the secondary

Colts signing defense, horaaay. Although Bethea is gone, that kind of stinks. He's been a good FS, oh well. I hope they get rid of Landry next, that dude fucking sucks. Hakeem Nicks visiting Colts. Yes please! I wanted the Colts to draft him back in the day.

Broncos went ham in free agency, ffs. If they somehow re-sign DRC as well their secondary will look pretty respectable. They need linebacker help now though. And crimson, I was talking to a friend at work about where the hell they're getting all of this cap money. Either Elway is a genius or they're bending/breaking some rules.

Also, Decker you silly man you. hahahaha

All this is correct. However, historically sack production nosedives after age 30. While I think Ware will still get double digit sacks for the next couple of years if he stays healthy (a big if), 20 sacks is not worth 20 million to the Cowboys at this point. Time to get younger, time to start clearing up the cap.

just lost their defensive leader and franchise cornerstone, and still have no money. Lol.

And all this is false. Ware has never been a real leader in the huddle or lockerroom, a long time knock on a classy guy. Lee is and has been the leader of this defense for a couple of years now. Ware might have been the best player on the roster in any given year, but I wouldn't call him the cornerstone. That would be, for better or worse, Tony Romo. The quarterback is the cornerstone on any team that has even a decent one. As far as the money goes, the 'Boys already got under the cap, and cutting Ware and Austin clears up an additional 12+mil this year. Not megabucks, but enough to sign a couple of B+ free agents at non "skill" positions. Marinelli would rather have a line of 8 B quality linemen than an A+ and a bunch of Cs. Particularly when Mr A+ is developing durability questions and is already over the hill.

Sounds like the Cards are in on Ted Ginn Jr. Would definitely be a nice addition to the KR and Receiver corps. I'm also happy with the Veldheer signing. In Keim I trust! lol

Melton visiting Dallas. I support that signing if they can swing it. Hard to compete with the SeaHawks though. Hoping Marinelli is the xfactor.
