Night Is The New Day album sales....

I wouldn't be surprised to see Katatonia end up on Roadrunner...I believe NITND was their last album under contract to Peaceville. It'd be pretty much the best choice for them to join Roadrunner (They've got good company with Opeth and Porcupine Tree).

I too think they are going to Roadrunner after this, definitely because of their Opeth and Porcupine Tree connection. They deserve it too, if they get a nice deal.

I don't remember reading that much pro roadrunner sentiment a few weeks ago.. but what the hell right?

Its all gonna be cool.. we can trust the guys with that. Except with videos . ^^

Lasse Hoile is to blame for the video. I thought he did an ok job on Porcupine Tree's Time Flies, but I don't know what was going on with the Kata vid.

I agree that Katatonia should have sold a hell of a lot more than they did. Were these numbers just for the US versions or worldwide sales? I would like to see them get off Peaceville if this is all the better that they can do. Although I don't know what to think of Roadrunner either. When Within Temptation signed to Roadrunner, I was certain that they was going to promote the hell out of Within Tempation to get them a lot of new fans in America. Their promotion of WT was utterly pathetic when compared to bands like Slipknot and Nickelback who get whored relentlessly. 1 single (a crappy one at that) was released and promoted as heavily as an indie garage band and that was as far as their promotion went. I am waiting to see what they will do with the next Within Temptation album, but if their promotion is not a vast improvement over their label debut release, then I will consider Roadrunner to be no better than any other label except in promoting only the most mainstream of bands.

You mean in a good way or a bad way?

I'm not surprised if that is the US total. Not a single store around here I called the day of it's release got it in (Meijer, 2 Wal-Marts, 2 Best Buys, 3 F.Y.E's., Headquarters Music, Target). It's "in stock" status at any stores that sell cds was virtually nonexistant.

NO ROADRUNNER! PLEASE KATATONIA NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! you really want godly katatonia on the same label as bands in the like of nickelback and other sellout shit bands just for a US tour? i say Kscope which would result in a tour of

KATATONIA with support from RIVERSIDE

roadrunner turned the bands that I liked in to shit, see what they did to Opeth ,Nightwish and Cradle they just couldn't get any worse

Roadrunner did nothing to those bands. That's just ridiculous to even think they are having some impact on Opeth who are still awesome, and Nightwish who haven't really changed other than getting rid of that spoiled cunt Tarja, and COF who are just...yeah. Roadrunner would get Katatonia's album in stores and get them on tours, thats what they need. Probably even with Opeth or Porcupine Tree. Katatonia and Riverside.....yeah right, I am still waiting for a Riverside US tour. I seen them twice doing one offs but their label isn't doing shit to get them over here for a tour. I try to think about what would be best for the band and I think that Roadrunner would be able to give them a good opportunity in the US market by getting them on tours where people actually show up and bring them to a wider audience.

Flawed,
I heard something was going down with RR and WT where RR wanted them to get back for another tour and they didn't want to come back yet or something. That took place right after their headline tour. I am sure RR would like to push the fuck out of WT and make them as big as they are in Europe. I am hoping they will do a tour here when the acoustic album comes out in the US.

Also, its no surprise to not find Katatonia in stores. Most stores don't carry anything from Peaceville.

Nightwish released the best album of their careers by a million miles, Opeth are doing ok and Cradle lost it 7 or 8 years ago. It's a mixed bag. I don't really want to see Katatonia there though, because to me it's just too commercial and loses a bit of soul. Then again, they seem to have outgrown Peaceville, as sad as that is to say as Peaceville have always been and remain my favourite label.

To say that RR turned opeth to shit is beyond crazy. for one Ghost Rev. album was done before they signed and according to Mikeal(sorry if that spelt wrong) RR pretty much left Opeth to there own devices to make Watershed. Cradle have been shit alot longer then they have been on RR. I really Hope Kata sign with RR, they will finally get a decent push and get albums into stores. It makes me REALLY mad that katatonia arn't massive as they should be.

Opeth still has that signature Mikael way of writing written all over it. He writes exactly the way he would regardless of the label situation. Also you'd have to be mad stupid to think Katatonia could be swayed so easily into letting record label pressure influence their sound.

Mad stupid.

When is that happening? I was under the impression that they weren't going to release it here.

"An Acoustic Night At The Theatre", the new live album from Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers WITHIN TEMPTATION, will be released in North America on December 15 via Roadrunner Records. The release will be available via all digital music providers, while physical copies will be available exclusively at the newly launched Roadrunner Records web store.

Hmmm....this part about physical copies is retarded.
