I downloaded a bunch of Nightingale songs because I heard Dan Swano was in it. From what I heard of him I was expecting something like Edge of Sanity or Dan Swano's "Moontower". I have to say I was surprised and entranced by Nightingale. I think it's much better then EoS (completely different, but still better).
Odd thing is I've never been so excited by music in a long time. I haven't listened to a song and thought: "I love this song. I want this album. I must have this album at all costs" since I heard Opeth for the first time. I impulsively ordered all three Nightingale albums online and the thought of holding them in my hands is enough to make me drool with desire.
I now have an admiration for Dan that is reserved for very few people (such as Mikeal Akerfeldt for example). I think Nightingale definitely isn't for everyone, but if you have a soul you will find something to like in their songs.
