"Sloppy" to me is a compliment to these guys. To say they are fucking horrible would be more accurate. Karl is nothing but a fat wannabe white Dino, but only possesses about 1/1000th of Dino's talent. I've always hated Nile... their music to me has always been boring and uninspired. I swear they have studio musicians going in and recording their parts, because there's no way in hell they go from being this untalented to actually playing tight on their albums. I've never seen them live, but I can imagine they either "play" to a backing track to sound good, or they actually play and just blow ass.

When I saw them live recently they were on to the "T" and tight. Awesome energy and aggression. The newest album was one of my fav's of last year. Being some intelligent "death metal". Eh, oh well, ya can't please everybody, nor should anybody try too.
But man, it must be hard economic times if that's the gear Guitar World are using.

Having seen them on the Ithyphallic and TWTGD tours and comparing it to bootlegs I've seen of the Laureano/Vesano and Laureano/Spires lineups, I'd have to say that this is their tightest lineup yet.

They are very talented musicians as far as technical ability goes. I'm not sure why people insist on saying that they're "sloppy" or "shitty" when they clearly are not. Their songwriting may be lacking nowadays, but sloppy players, nope.

You can tell that Karl is once again either stoned out of his mind, or drunk, in this video. Every instructional video I've seen from Nile, Karl's always fucked up.

I think that's just Karl's manner. I've only ever seen him act like that, both on youtube and when I saw them live earlier this year.

Was a great show as well. Their latest album is recorded really well so there is a lot more clarity and the tones don't blow ass. I have a hard time listening to early Nile to be honest.

dino sucks dude... Im not saying these guys are better.. But Dino aint god...

I never said Dino was god, but in my opinion (which I still stand by), Dino is a much better technical player than Karl. I'm allowed to have my own opinions, just like others are allowed to think Nile is actually good. I know they both play different genres, but their styles both require a certain level of speed and technicality that does let me compare them to an extent. It was also part joke meaning they are both fat guitar players -- normally who most would imagine be sluggish and not very technically apt. Everyone is allowed his/her own opinion, so that's fine if you like Nile. I don't. Even if they aren't playing up to their level in these videos, their songs still remain (to me) very dull.

I'm not swinging on his nuts, I really don't enjoy anything they've done this side of AOTW (I think their songwriting is very lacking now-a-days). Even then, ITDS and AOTW are the only albums I can listen to all the way through (the first two have absolutely terrible production imo.)

I just think it's ridiculous to call them sloppy when they clearly are not, if you've ever seen them live.

I've seen live two times (like 5 years ago and 2 years ago) and they are amazing tight players. But yeah they sound a bit untight in those guitar lessons vidz, with shitty amp/miking/tones that is. But live they slay, and this is what matters.
