So how is everyone feeling about The Wild Hunt after multiple listens? I'm loving it, but from what I've read on the internet, I'm in the minority. Most people are bashing the very polished production. I have no problem with it.

Listened to it twice today. I think it's bloody great. Do not understand the hate for this album.

Watain is hype bullshit (not that i've really listened to anything after casus luciferi which was a great dmds ripoff, but still)

Today i heard the New volbeat at the gym and it had some really cool riffz, who could have guessed?

I feel like Watain receives more criticism because they are over-hyped than due to any significant lacking in their music. Are they innovators? No, but they have a great sense of song structure and play a style I'm very fond of with dedication. Cheers, I'm going to go listen to Lizzy Borden :headbang:

I like Casus Luciferi a decent amount, but I don't listen to it anymore. I bought Lawless Darkness and it didn't do much for me. Nothing bad, just didn't grab me or anything. Haven't heard anything else, and probably won't bother.

Preordered the new Ulver and then went back and spun their last one since I haven't listened to it since it came out. There is a distinct possibility that Childhood's End is the lamest album in my collection. I even went through the last Hammers of Misfortune just to confirm and yes, Ulver now occupies a unique space on my shelves as both some of the best and worst shit I own.

The first time I heard Volbeat I was convinced it was actually Life of Agony.

I see that I am not the only one. Google = The Shadow = knows...

That is a true statement. I hated Ugly when it came out but grew to love it many years later.

I think it is directly responsible for a LOT of terrible music that came later, but it still rocks.

And of course, one cannot fail to mention nowadays Keith Caputo: http://www.minacaputo.com/
