I'm checking out some stuff from the upcoming Dark Knight movie. Excellent as usual. There's this return to some textures and motifs from the Batman Begins movie but with a new feel (e.g. 'Nothing Out There'), and also from the previous one (e.g. 'Fear Will Find You'), but there's also some completely new stuff (e.g. 'Mind if I Cut In'). Oh and the Bane theme (if you can guess where it is) totally kicks ass.

I've been listening to the new Testament album, Dark Roots of Earth, and I think it's pretty good. It isn't as good as some of their previous work, but not many bands release albums late in their careers that are considered among the best of their work.

I don't like the 'ballad' at all, and the title track is kind of boring, but everything else is pretty good.

it's okay as background music but nothing I would sit down and listen to.

I get that feeling sometimes. But I usually get away from rock/metal when I want that. I don't like "pop metal".
