argorn - anthology

the best ones IMO, but all the scene was great at all

angel witch, satan and blitzkrieg are the three i really love, then there's an absolute ton i like inc. elixir, holocaust, witchfynde, diamond head, persian risk, legend, etcetc

the ex manager of demon used to run a music store in my town, place used to reek of pot

ok I like diamond head and angel witch already but I don't have that album yet, will get. Blitzkrieg have some great songs. I agree that Grim Reaper have good album art, got that album now too.

I'll probably get most/all of what was recommended.
Anyway I got Time Tells no lies by Praying Mantis and I really like it.

Legend - Legend and Death In The Nursery are some of the best the scene ever had to offer, and if anyone tells you otherwise, they're a fucking faggot.

Witchfinder General - Death Penalty

Cloven Hoof - Cloven Hoof

Witchfynde - Give 'Em Hell

Aragorn - Noonday Anthology

Trespass - Trespass Anthology

Saracen - Heroes, Saints, & Fools

Samson - Head On

White Spirit - White Spirit

Raven - Rock Until You Drop

Jaguar - Power Games

Plus most of what's already been mentioned.

Satan - Court In The Act
Witchfynde - Give 'Em Hell
Witchfynde - Lords Of Sin
Angel Witch - Angel Witch
Avenger - Too Wild To Tame - The Anthology (it's basically their entire excellent discog)
Get a Blitzkrieg album or two aswell, any'll do.

Check out
Savage - Let it Loose, brilliant album.

Tygers of Pan Tang - First three albums or so.

Mama's Boy's - Quality varies but some stuff is really good.

Rock Goddess - The ultimate opening act in Europe in the eighties.

Ive been looking into getting some more NWOBHM and basically got the basics, any other bands to add to these in this thread?

Well maybe:
Venom
Atomkraft - Anthology
Budgey
Warefare - Metal Anarchy
Tröjan - Chasing the Storm

btw, try before you buy. You MIGHT like them

^that atomkraft anthology is good shit

hmm what quality stuff hasn't been mentioned

pagan altar - volume 1 (obvious but yknow)
sledgehammer - blood on their hands (exceptional and ridiculously underheard/underrated)
holocaust - the nightcomers (another obvious classic)
voltz - knight's fall (really unusual)
dark heart - shadows of the night (also deserve more exposure imo, classy stuff)
egypt - s/t (late, but i think of them as nwobhm anyway)
jaguar - power games
more - warhead
tokyo blade - night of the blade
savage - loose 'n' lethal (someone mentioned this earlier under the incorrect title 'let it loose', which is actually the name of the first song on here)
chariot - the warrior
blade runner - hunted

if you're interested in 7", demos etc then there's an absolute shitton i could recommend btw

and i reiterate just in case, you absolutely NEED these beauties before moving onto anything else:
blitzkrieg - a time of changes
angel witch - s/t
iron maiden - s/t
diamond head - lightning to the nations
satan - court in the act

oh I've thought of some more:

Tank - Honour and Blood
Ethel the Frog - Ethel the Frog

Also, you'll probably like swedish stuff like:

Gotham City - The Unknown
Heavy Load - Metal Conquest and Stronger than Evil
