Off topic/ who plays an instument............

My old got signed to Torrid / Epic records ( they released the first Exodus album) but they went bankrupt before it was released. :erk: So it got put out on a smally indie label. I think the greatest thing about playing was be able to jam and party with some cool bands, famous and not.

Hey how is the new Satyricon cd? I have really been thinking about buying one of their albums because I heard a pretty cool song on Headbangers Ball from their album Volcano. Is Volcano any good? Also has anyone got the new Lamb of God? I did on Friday and I think it is pretty kick ass. I also got a pro shot video of Lamb Of God from Ebay. It is supposed to be a club show so I am really looking forward to getting it. I just can't get off of this damn Lamb of God kick that I have been on lately. Their shit has been like crack to me :rock:

On a different note I just bought a house and I am in the process of soundproofing my garage. This is going to be a rehearsal space to end all rehearsal places. I am so stoked!!!!! I told my girlfriend she can do whatever to the house but she is not even touching the garage nor will she be able to use it. Mind you I am like the rest of ya guys. I have no head trips about being famous nor would I want to be. I would though on one hand like to be able to play out more and go to different venues to play. I don't know, I am just so excited about getting my drums back from my parents house. I have had them there for about 2 years now while I live in some crappy little apartment so this is just what the doctor ordered!!! It already has a fridge in there and an air conditioner and is almost acoustically perfect for jamming. So there is going to be many jam sessions and drunken nights in the spot. Woohooo!!!

The problem of getting the pedal is more in distribution. In the country I live in there are not many distributors of good instruments and I have bought everything on Ebay (this drumset, snare drum, complete DW hardware), so I can´t really try it out, you know.
I also have my kit in my parents´house! But everybody has kind of gotten used to my now and then practising :) I have forgotten all the dreams of making a living playing drums because it´s not virtually possible in my homeland...but still it´s a trip to kick it hard in the venue, you know.
 
Hell yeah! thats what is all about, I love playing out in front of people and I know it kinda sounds egotistical but I love showing off. I mean not in the sense that I am arrogant about it but I have been playing for so long that I just like to show how far I have come since I first started ( I started playing drums when I was a wee lad and I am now 24) I have no aspirations of "making it". I just like to play music that I like to listen to myself. There is nothing like the feeling when you know you just played something really cool. I work for the State of Michigan Budget Office so I am doing well in the cash department and I couldn't even think about leaving my job to go around the U.S. playing shitty little clubs to probably not get anywhere. So what country are you from? Why is it so hard to find equipment? Axis is probably the most well built equipment and is the most durable shit around and the play on them is amazing. What kind of set do you have?

I think I wrote it up above. I have pearl masters brx studio kit, 24 BD, 10, 12, 14, 16 toms, 6,5x14 SD-pearl free floating maple shell, DW hardware (hi-hat stand, two boom cymbal stands, snare drum stand, double bass pedal), the other cymbal stands are Yamaha, I use Istanbul Alchemy cymbals (13 hi-hat, 15, 17, 18 crashes) and Zildjian china and ride.
I live in Czech republic which is in Central Europe, it´s still a post-communist shithole so there is no wonder it´s quite hard to get some decent instruments.

We´re the same then, I am a fucking exhibitionist flasher behind the kit, I leave all the everyday shit aside and I am the king when I take the sticks and sit on the fucking throne! Actually I just learned there is only ONE store who has Axis pedals in my hometown. So this week I´m going to check it out and hopefully put my feet onto it!:rock:

I sure did, thanx for asking, I got my ankles inflamed and I couldn´t walk for like a month, two weeks in hospital, dude did that suck. The doctors told me in the end it could have been either an inflammatory caused by some bacteria or symptoms of gout (which I think I´m still quite young for, for fuck´s sake). I´m feeling ok now, I have no problems walking and I can play the drums (even thought I haven´t tried any double bass blast beats yet, but I hope I haven´t forgotten that one).
