AMON AMARTH UK FESTIVAL EXCLUSIVE FOR 2009 !! The Bloodstock team are pleased to announce that Viking metallers AMONAMARTH have been added to the bill for BOA 2009. Amon Amarth were formed in Stockholm in 1992, issuing several demos duringthe next few years which eventually led to a deal with Pulverised Recordswho released the mini-album Sorrow Throughout the Nine Worlds in 1996. MetalBlade were suitably impressed with the bands epic death metal and promptlysigned them on a long term contract. Their first full-length album Once SentFrom The Golden Hall appeared in 1998 and saw the band embark on analbum-tour-album cycle which laid the foundations for a wider internationalprofile. Both The Avenger (1999) and The Crusher (2001) built on the successof Once Sent From The Golden Hall, with relentless touring taking the bandsincreasingly impressive live show to bigger and bigger audiences. 2002 Versus The World and 2004 Fate Of Norns saw the band break through tothe next level, extensive worldwide touring, a triumphant show at Wacken 04and a legendary performance at Bloodstock indoor in 2005 capping a highlysuccessful period. Following Fate Of Norns was never going to be easy, but2006 With Oden On Our Side did just that with consummate ease. Clearly thebands most carefully crafted album to date, it saw them tour worldwide yetagain and begin to win support from the wider metal community. Their currentalbum Twilight Of The Thunder God has continued their global rise, chartedimpressively all over the world and seen them raid UK shores once more aspart of the recent Unholy Alliance tour. If you hate England why are you coming to live in a field, for a weekend, with a load of English people.....surely thats just stupid, good bands or not.

Think yourself lucky it's only festivals for you...I swear I'm being stalked by Finnish metal. And cool niche metal in general. Last week, do you know how many of my favourite 'niche' bands played within 20 miles of me within five days?!

THREE

Korpiklaani on the Monday (Wolves)
Alestorm on the Friday (Brum)
Apocalyptica also the the Friday (Wolves)

Of course, I may simply be bitter that, of the three, I only made it to one (Korpiklaani) due to being ill, and they were notably on the crap side, but I still swear I'm being stalked

OnTopic: Bloodstock, woo.

OMG can someone take me to the fest??! promise dont be annoying XD and im little so i can trip as luggage in a bag  and dont eat much haha..sadly England is one of the most expensive countries to fly at, from my country :(

haha you would mrs!!!

my ticket officially, physically arrived yesterday *does a little happy dance*

and back off topic, to the Yorkshire thing. Lauren Harris played leeds last night, the venue was bloody freezing!!!! After she played the first song she commented on the cold to which one guy replied 'what do you expect, this is yorkshire' and me Kayleigh prodeeded to start chanting 'YORKSHIRE' at the top our voices. Then after the gig me and the Headrush boys were trying to teach Lauren and her drummer how to speak Yorkshire. The drummer found our lingo highly amusing... especially when it came to 'northern boys love gravy'
