Actually awhile back I memorised all the Norsk Runes and would read/write in them... but it pissed off my English teacher when I handed in a assignment in it, haha.

Anyway I forgot them mostly...

well, let's say, the english language has a quite large vocabulary, but a language consists of vocabulary+grammar, and english hasn't such an complex grammar as a lot of other languagaes

every language has it's own expressions that can't be translated
spanish has lots of jokes that are impossible to translate,even to other spanish speakers from different countries
