I remember thinking the first time I played MP3 that it did have many similarities to Halo. MP1 kicked ass but MP2 not so much. I thought it was a little boring and even frustrating in places.

Super Metroid for the SNES, however, is probably the best game ever. I basically spent my entire childhood playing it.:lol:

I agree 100% with this, except i didn't play super metroid as a kid. I've been through it a number of times in the past few years thoguh.

MP2 was not terrible, but it just couldn't touch MP1. If 2 came out first and then was folloed by 1, i don't think it'd be nearly as disappointing.

I do like the screw attack though and wish 1 had incorporated that.

Thanks, Ken. I've been waiting for Opeth's new album details like a madman. I've become obsessed with this band within the last 2 years, so I've never experienced a new album. Sweet. :rock:

Agreed, the song titles are a bit strange. Mikael has to be fucking with people. Who the hell names a song Hessian Peel? I bet later he will release the real titles...

I really love Morningrise through Still Life and also Deliverance. the one song i heard from GR (not even the single... some random track in my buddy's car) just didn't sound very good at all to me... or at least not interesting enough to go track down the album. I bought the disc, i just never listened to it.
 
Well, it's definitely a grower. I own all of their CDs and none of them stand out as much as GR. It's by far my favorite of the lot. Just personal preference though, you may hate it.:lol:
 
There was a guy on a mailing list I was on who really tried to get me into Opeth. Can't get past the growlies, unfortunately, and he would have a fit everytime I called them BLOWpeth.....Jax knows who I'm talking about....Have you heard from Outtie recently, Jax?

I fucking love Opeth, and frankly I really don't like GR much at all.. there's a couple of cool songs, but honestly.. meh.. stick to older stuff.. everything up until GR in fact lol..

yeah I know a dude that calls them blowpeth.. but i think that guy is a complete tosser (not for that reason, but it doesnt help) so careful J-Dubz :p
 
Waitwaitwait... Why am I the only one who thinks Ghost Reveries is awesome? I'm in love with that album. I mean, I love Still Life, Blackwater, Damnation, and Deliverance just as much, but GR is great! "Beneath the Mire" and "The Baying of the Hounds" are already worth the money for the CD, and the rest of the songs are just as good.
