I don't think that anyone was a slut so I'm not sure where you got that. She danced similar to a slut cause she was rubbing her body all over 8 or 9 guys for 30 secs. per guy. I perceived it as slutty, but is she a slut? Hell if I know. lol

I would be more concerned about a guy wanting to go to a dance club, but whatever. Different strokes I guess.

Yeah, not sure why people like doing it.. loud music.. people getting drunk and acting stupid.. pretty girls.. oh.. oh wait.. isn't that the same as going to a metal concert? Loud music, yes. People drunk and acting stupid, certainly ! Pretty girls? Oh wait.. nah.. no pretty girls at metal concerts.
It's not that much of a difference if you think about it.

Um.... that's how people act in dance clubs. It's like going to a death metal show and being like "man, that guy is a fucking douche for moshing"... no, time and place dictates that his actions are normal for his surroundings. And i think she may have gotten the impression that you were calling the girls there slutty because of your liberal use of words with the root "slut". Just a guess.

Hah! That's absolutely hysterical that you're trying to equate a dance club to a metal show. Not at ALL the same.

Pro wrestling... let's see. Loud music? Check. Lots of drunk people acting stupid? Fuck yeah seaking. Pretty girls? Depends on your definition of pretty.

OMG LOL ITS A METAL CONCERT AND DANCE CLUB ALL IN ONE LOLWTFOMG!!!!!

Seriously dude, nothing alike. Also, the chicks at a metal show, while not at all bad looking in my experience, are not the point of attending a metal show. If the thought of going to a metal show to find a hot chick has ever crossed your mind, you need to re-assess why you went in the first place.

They are two completely different cultures, and I happen to generally not like the type of people who go clubbin'. I also don't see the point myself. That's not to say i hate everyone who does, i have friends who do and i have met some people who aren't complete tools, but as a rule i just don't like that demographic. Again, different strokes.

By the way, i must congratulate you for effectively insulting every girl that does and ever has posted on this forum by saying there are no pretty girls at metal shows. Hear that ladies? You's all fuckin' uuuuugly.

New post for a topic i care about more than Canto's clubbin' lifestyle!

Fuck finding drummers man! Skelator tried out a drummer yesteday (a practice i didn't really feel like going to because i feel like shit and have all week) and that was cool, he seems like he'd do a good job but i don't really get a great feeling from him. It isn't a bad feeling, but I just don't think things totally clicked personality-wise with him, and that can be a problem if you're stuck in a van for 2 weeks with the dude. I dunno, just met him once so maybe he'll be totally awesome on the call back. We still got one more dude to try out so we'll see how it goes. Just wanted to vent. The end.

 yeah I thought that too when I saw it.. this guy the other week said, while in the car with both me and my attractive metalhead FEMALE friend 'there's no hot metal chicks in Australia, you gotta go to Europe' - my friend and I just looked at each other.. THANKS GUYS! YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE GIRLS FEEL SPECIAL ABOUT THEMSELVES!

Anyways, I'm in the club to dance cause I got some serious moves, no lie. I find a cutie on the floor, grab her, and start dancing with her. About 30 secs. into the sweet dancing she goes all b2c ( booty to crotch )
This is as far as I made it into your post before I died laughing.

B2C??? :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

They have an abbreviation for everything these days.

So much for being open minded... and excuse me for being social. Not every Symphony X fan has to live in their mom's basement and suck at life. I can go to clubs, play varsity basketball, and do whatever the fuck I want to do and still like my music. So fuck your trends and shit, i'll do whatever I want to do and fuck you for being a jackass if you so happen to be.
I actually made up that abbreviation lol.
Oh yeah, going to a club and going to a concert is still the same thing except it's different music. So haha !

They're just teasing you. IMHO it's ok to meet other people (than one's parents) from time to time.

I went to a dance club once. Okay okay, I've been in dance clubs several times but in Finland most (?) dance clubs have this rock/metal-section for rockers & metalheads. The bad thing is that music is ridiculously loud. Therefore it's all about drinking beer (now that I wrote it I wonder what bad is about it?)

This is off topic, but hey, thats what the thread is for right?

I want to start a new instrument and i am thinking the Bass might be for me.
I did not like Piano that much(took it for over 1 year) and drums were just ok....not great...

Does anyone have some info on the Bass. Like how hard it is to play, how much time do i need to spend on it, is it a good instrument to start out with cause i have not played many others etc etc

I am sure their are some Bass experts here so please reply!!!

It all depends on your goals with it. You wont have any trouble at all if you're just trying to learn some basic rock/metal tunes, but if you're trying to be the next victor wooten you're in for a lot of work. If you're just learning it for a hobby, I think guitar or piano are better/more fulfilling "hobby" instruments but in the end, any instrument will only be as fun as you make it so if you're interested in bass then just go for it. I played the string-bass in my high school symphonic band and I play a bit of electric bass here and there (not a lot other than when I need to for something) and it's fun to wear that hat from time to time. You'll also probably have an easier time finding people to jam with once you get to that level....there are more than enough guitar players as it is!

I mostly want to learn for the hobby and a few other things:

1) I want to be known as the "guy who's good at bass"
2) I want to be able to play in a band, even if its not a good band...
3) I want to be able to play something from Symphony X on bass :)

Question: Can good bass players play the guitar after learning bass, or is it something completely different?

OI, I resemble that remark!!! But then I'm too old to be called a pretty "girl", lol!! And on that note, there aren't too many pretty boys at metal concerts either...
