I generally agree with this.
Yeah, raping and killing a cat is fucked up, but I've seen worse. I've seen a video of two guys burning a cat alive before. Anyone who abuses an animal is fucked up and deserves to die, imo.

Sure, taking a guy out back and killing him is pretty inexpensive. However, that's not how it works in the the U.S., so the death penalty is wya more expensive than incarceration for life.

This is a pretty stupid argument tbh. Ok no, it's not certain. That's why I said the chances were negligible. Negligible doesn't mean certain. Also, Varg made most of his contribution to music before he killed someone and was punished accordingly. If this guy wanted to contribute to society in some way, maybe he should have done so before getting arrested and having his name in the paper for raping, torturing and killing a defenseless animal.

Holy fuck... I can't believe I just read all of these pages with my IQ points leaking from my head with every post. With the exception of a few of you (WAIF, Einharhjer, V5, Nec, a couple of others) this whole thread has been a parade of retardation.

I mean, seriously... your opinion is somewhere around 400 years outdated. So you're going to take a guy who didn't even commit murder and put him to death... for a cat? This is despite supporting several bands who have members who have committed violent crimes AGAINST HUMANS!!!!! He doesn't really even need to go to jail. He needs to be in a psychiatric ward, where he can get the treatment he needs. He's not going to receive that treatment getting raped in prison. Any sane judge will give him a couple of years of intense psychiatric care.
This is a severely disturbed 18 year old kid, and to just say you're going to end his life, when he hasn't yet harmed a human is just fucking retarded, backwards, and primitive.
With the right treatment, he might one day be a productive member of society.

Quite frankly, I don't hold out much hope for the rehabilitation of someone who would do something so depraved to another living thing. People go to jail for much less disturbing shit every day. This whole "OMG but he never hurt a HUMAN!" argument is fucked tbh. The nature of the act he's committed is such that he would most likely be deemed extremely likely to follow this behaviour up with similar crimes directed at people anyway. I don't necessarily think he should be put to death, but I don't think a couple of years of psychiatric care is going to miraculously "fix" this guy either.
