Teens Charged in 'Mortal Kombat' Death

Yeah, but pretty much no one actually thinks MK series was better than SF2. The MK games were fun party games when you could put on the one button fatality cheat. I also really like the MK universe and storylines, but gameplay has never been especially tight. Serious gamers almost never rate any MK game (except for maybe MK2) at the peak of the genre.

Yeah, the story and characters are classic. I'm really disappointed that Midway isn't going to continue with any of the classic characters for the next-gen consoles.

I haven't heard about that. What are they going to do? It's too bad they were never able to successfully branch out into other genres. Aside from the rare shitty character, just about everyone had an interesting history and plot twists. The ending of Deception was very open ended, and I don't think MK Armageddon was canon, so it would really suck if they didn't resolve the story.

Shaolin Monks sounded like the right direction to go, but apparently the execution was pretty poor.

They've said in a few interviews that Armageddon would be the last game to feature this set of characters. They wanted to end this era of MK with the current generation, and have an entirely new slait for next gen. Given that and the plot of Armageddon, I'm definitely sure Armageddon was cannon, I don't know why it wouldn't be.

Really sucks though, I'm going to miss all those characters, especially Sindel.

I dunno, I thought that since deceased characters came back for that game that it didn't really count. I guess some of them might have been there just for vs. mode, and had no bearing on the plot.

oh ok. I don't even think they're fun at all though. I used to when I was 10 years old but I played them recently and was highly disappointed.

I say this a lot but if people would just fucking think for two fucking seconds before they do things, a lot of problems. What stupid idiots. This makes me angry that people are this stupid. And these morons could've almost voted.

I only played Tekken 5 on PS2 and it was more tedious than staring at cobwebs all day long.
Soul Calibur 3:kickass:

I actually am very much excited whenever a new MK title is announced. I bought all the MK games for the PS2 and although they don't offer much replayability, I find that there's there's a certain, undeniable charm in the characters and the atmosphere of the MK universe on the whole that makes me want to return and play them every now and then.
I watched Mortal Kombat- the movie yesterday again only to remind myself how hideous it is, but still found it strangely engaging all the way through just because of the setting.
Weird, I know.

You'd expect this kind of thing from people who play shitty video games. It's not the violence in the game, but it's no coincidence that people who play stupid games do stupid things.

Never liked tekken much (kind of hated it actually), streetfighter was alright (all the later editions could kiss my ass though); for me, mortal kombat was great, and I had total love for most of the characters and storylines. Other fighting games that were were/are awesome are guilty gear, samrai showdown, primal rage (hilarious), soul caliber, nightstalkers, and a few others i'm forgetting.

Soul Caliber is pretty good. I pwn with Raphael. Mortal kombat is better when it comes to strategizing fights, it's harder to button mash and win.

In SCII I found a way to fight with Necrid so that if you time it right your enemy can't attack. You have to get the first hit in, though, and it's no good for time challenges because it takes too long to kill.

Street Fighter > Tekken > Soul Calibur > MK(sucks)

Starts getting sweet at 4 minutes~

+ in actuality, Ryu would get a perfect victory.
