I have undertaken the biggest challenge of my life so far : going to the cinema watch star wars without spoiling myself a single second of it.

I WILL NOT WATCH A VIDEO OR READ YOUR POSTS GUYS ! I'm OUT !

Even if it's bad can it be that much worse than Episode I? That is the real question.

Interestingly, Episode I might be the best one of the 6. It seems like a children's movie but this one actually has the darkest storyline when you take into context what is going to happen to the characters. You need to see it a bunch of times to really understand it.

A couple examples:
1. When Anakin says "It's cold", which is forshadowing his dark side, Padme reacts by demonstrating affection for him for the first time. It's his dark side that turns her on. And she is too old for him. It is a perverse start to a dark relationship. And it's a kid's movie. Killer.
2. The celebration music at the end of the film is actually the Emperor's theme. Killer again.

Personally, I rolled my eyes when I saw that lightsaber. Hopefully, they'll focus more on telling a compelling story than using these stupid gimmicks and making the whole movie looking like a video game with the overuse of CGI. I'm not holding my breath though. Although, the star trek movies (especially the first) were pretty ok.

yes! this is pretty much how i feel about all these goofy ass light sabers.

The number of complaints I've seen about this lightsaber is too damn high. There's plenty of canon material to support different-looking lightsabers. What matters is how often the characters use it. They were dangerous and awesome in the originals because they only showed up once or twice per film.

Episode 1 was ok, I liked 3 because it was pretty dark, and 2 sucked for being 99% storyline and then one big fuck off fight at the end.

I think this one has the right people involved for it to be badass, but I'm not holding my breath. And I just hope Disney's involvement doesn't fuck with the intentions of Abrams and everyone else.

Episode three was the best one among I II III (it's almost up to the old ones standard), the other two episodes are just a huge pile of crap.
At least they asked ILM to give them the original sounds fx lol, they got the very same sound as the real trilogy (episode IV V VI) listen to the millenium falcon!
Even the music is really inspired by the original trilogy!
Let's see how it turns out

i do not understand all this original trilogy nostalgia nonsense...if you want to see the falcon so bad why don't you just go watch ep IV-VI instead of waiting for ep VII? otherwise you are just gearing yourself for disappointment like what happened with the latest indiana jones movie.
