Opeth lyrics...from Comus songs?

is this thread so necessary? of course those bands impressed mikeael, so what! opeth have a unique sound that nobody have..

Whoa, I finally checked out a couple of tracks off of Comus' 2nd LP "To Keep from Crying" on Myspace... a huge departure and a much poppier sound than "First Utterance." I don't know if I like it at all.

Yeah, apparently Roger Wootton hates nearly everything on to keep from crying except for like...2 tracks or so.

I Like both albums, i Listen to First Utterance (and the material on the first disc of the 'song to comus' collection...especially 'all the colours of darkness')...but to keep from crying and Woottons solo stuff is really fun to listen to.

"fun" is the word.
The two songs on the myspace page are the most upbeat. There are some more brooding songs on the album.
"Get Yourself a Man" is very :erk:able tttt.
but anything with bassoon = fun.

i warned you :D
tcfc, and even the b-sides on the diana EP imo (which are a lot better though), don't compare to the greatness of first utterance.

welp i'd like to read more about comus' background, but i haven't found much.. any wootton interview links? ;)

those 2 songs from "first utterance" on their myspace were the first 2 songs I've heard from Comus (heard about the band long before, and their influence on opeth), but I'm sorry, I don't really like it .....
but this could be more because of my musical (under)development ;) I admit ... there was a day when I didn't understood metal years ago, while I'm completely addicted to it now ... so who knows what I'll like in the future.
