Been meaning to register and post this for a while now - hope it's of some interest.

If you have a look here...

First Utterance

...you'll find the lyrics to the 1971 "Acid Folk" album First Utterance by Comus.

The first song (also a single) Diana includes a line about "the baying of the hounds" but there's more!

Scroll down past The Herald until you get to the third song Drip Drip:

"As I carry you to your grave my arms your hearse"

I haven't spotted any more (I noticed those two whilst listening to the album) on this page, but Comus did record one further album, which is also included in the 2CD anthology that I have:

Here's the Progarchives entry on Comus, for further detail:

COMUS discography, MP3 and reviews

it's carved in stones that mike took the MAYH title from the comus lyrics.
and also blackwater park came from the name of an old prog rock band.

th baying of the hounds, that could be a good news instead.

me/deliverance went through all the lyrics to find all the references like a year ago

one of the other ones i can remember is 'virtuous shell'

It's been written before, but Mike steals some stuff on purpose as a tribute to ol' faves. All of the album titles are stolen (havent had any source confirmed on Ghost Reveries though..) and a lot of the song titles, examples:

For Absent Friends (band)
Blackwater Park (band)
My Armse Your Hearse (comus line)
Still Life (band, iron maiden song and some other album also)
Orchid (Black Sabbath song)
The Baying of the Hounds (comus line)
there are a lot more, but you get the picture..
