Opeth-Watershed

Same here. It's one of the best opeth songs and has the greatest guitar solos every recorded. END

the main funeral portrait riff single-handedly stops the funeral portrait from being one of opeths best songs. i'm relistening and the rest isn't that bad.

anyway best songs on bwp are of course the leper affinity, bleak and dirge for november

I think Watershed is an okay album...better than Ghost Reveries at least. The standout tracks are definitely Burden and Heir Apparent, but the other half gets really boring after a while. Also it has some pretty rough transitions - namely in Porcelain Heart and Hessian Peel.

Watershed is their best album.

And you're their best fan.

I didn't know Mikael Akerfeldt listened to Interpol and went to parties. When's the next Bloodbath album coming?

Why am I stilling lolling at this? But i always do

Go Interpol :kickass:

1. Still Life
2. My Arms, Your Hearse
3. Orchid
4. Morningrise
5. Blackwater Park
6. Damnation
7. Deliverance
8. Watershed
9. Ghost Reveries

Fixed.

Now, as for album related discussion: I didn't like this record at all when I first heard it. But for some reason it has grown, and I'm actually listening to it as a write now. I'ts not bad, and feels somewhat experimental. I think it's a transitional work in a way. There's definitely no finality to this record, and I mean this in reference to it's style.

I didn't dare buy that piece of shit Ghost Reveries, a fucking disgrace that record is. Piece of fucking crap, and that's considering I really like this band.

Watershed is definitely a recovery, but among their best it is NOT. These fucking tools who claim it's Akerfeldt's best need to stop sucking dick and get a real job, clearly they started to listen to metal 3 weeks ago.

That's because Orchid is shit

You should be banished from the land of Opeth for this.

I've only listened to Watershed once so far, and from what I heard it sounded awful. The songwriting sounded so simplistic, and there seemed to be barely any good riffs at all. Since so many people keep saying it grew on them, though, I guess I'll have to hold off judgment until further listens.
