OT: The Official Final Fantasy Thread

whats the average play time for most of you? Like how long did it take you to complete most of the FF games?

60+ hours, but I like to level up a lot, complete all the side-quests, and basically just take my time talking to everyone and wandering around.

The first time through I want to beat it ASAP...so for like VII and VIII and IX it was probably somewhere near 30-35 hours. Then the next time through I try to do a lot and it's more near 45-50

FF1:25-35 hrs
FF2: 30-39 hrs
FF3: undertermined for US version, as its not out yet
FF4: 45-60 hrs
FF5: 50-55 hrs
FF6: 55 hrs
FF7: 70-85 hrs
FF8: 90 hrs
FF9: 75 hrs
FF10: 150 hrs + (my current files are over 500 each, us and international version)
FF11: considering I dont play it often and its a MMORPG, I have only invested about 25-30 hrs into it

and yes if you were in the US FF III is the same thing as VI, we missed out a couple of amazing rpgs for YEARS, but were finally getting III here in the states in november

I'm the type who plays through it first just doing the story and shit! Thant he 2nd time through I collect all items/all side quests ect!

so far most of the FF games have taken me over 30 hours... even on a rushed game! (FFT was not as long but what yah gona do!) I love long games... The newer games now days don't keep me playing long enough!

I can't play a game too long cause then I get bored (ADD). That's why I've attempted at beating Dark Cloud 2 many times but always quit after chapter 7.

My favorite games of all time:
-Prince of Persia series
-Metroid series (excluding Prime, 2D all the way!)
-Zelda series
-Counterstrike: Source if it counts
-Oh, and can't forget Castlevania! The music in those games > the music in FF IMO
-MEGAMAN!!!!!!!!

Well thats the thing about FF games...They are always interesting... I have ADD as well... I am in the car with my friend for 40 minutes to go to work in Ontario and I never stop talking the whole way! However games put me in my happy place and keep me silent! I don't like long games that are borring...Such as Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind... However Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion looks like it may be one of my faves in the future loL!

I wanna play Oblivion so bad. I heard it's awesoooooome. As for fave games and franchises:

The FF Series
Super Mario Bros. 3
Halo: CE (Played it for PC, never on XBox...this game I kinda just sat down and didn't move for a few days)
Need for Speed series...dunno why I'm so addicted to them, but I am.

That's about it, or at least all that I can think of.

Being a huge gamer I think I have every console under the sun loL! And just last week picked up a ps2 to complete my past gen collection! With FFX of course. Plan on Getting X-2 and God of War.

I'm also modifying my room with some new entertainment equipment including giant screen t.v and huge speakers and shit(obviously HDTV) So I can get an Xbox 360 for Oblivion and Halo 3 (And what other ORGASMIC games the come out with...such as Fable 2 prob )

I've been thinking about this lately for some reason: I wonder how hard it would be to beat some uber drummer like Neil Peart at Donkey Konga. It would be worth a try
