OT: Who gets the last word?

Okay, that myspace is a monster. I was just found by an old friend from high school that I haven't talked to in almost 12 years. Not only does he remember me, but he actually took the time to find me. And not even two weeks after opening my account there. That is freaky.

so who are you on my space? I searched your name and found a sister in NYC

Damnit, there isn't a station that shows new episodes of The Shield in Canada (I think they might start showing it a few months from now, a lot of good that does me now  )

Thank god for torrents, I'm downloading the premier now, should have it in 20 minutes, but I'll have to watch it off my computer. Maybe I'll watch it tomorrow.

YES!!!!!! This is going to be a kickass season. I didn't think I could hate Kavanaugh more than I already did, but I do. And poor Dutch, what a crime scene to stumble upon. Plus, a Rescue Me blurb for June, which means it will pick up as soon as The Shield ends. FX is my friend (for now).

Wicked, thanks!

While I'm waiting, I've got some Guitar Hero to play. I got it yesterday for the 360, and stayed up until 1 am trying to unlock as many songs as possible. I've got a ways to go before I can unlock Madhouse, Hangar 18, and Paranoid, but I'll get there!

I'm hoping my wife will buy it for me for my upcoming birthday. She asked me if I was interested in it when we were at Futureshop last night. I, of course, said hell yeah!!

As an "early Father's Day present", my wife also picked up a second guitar, so I'm having some buddies over to test out some head-to-head and co-op play tonight. The co-op play is a neat idea, as you can play lead, while the other person plays rhythm or bass.

I really dig that feature. Last weekend, my friend brought his guitar over and we all took turns making fools of ourselves...especially seeing how long we'd last on Expert for certain songs.

Since he was on spring break last week, my husband unlocked most of the songs for the PS2. He also bought the Dethklok song...which is actually pretty hard to play.

Supposedly, XBox live Marketplace is going to have a lot of songs available to buy as add-ons, so I'll have to check it out once I get a bit further in the game. I only started playing on Easy mode yesterday; I'll probably aim to finish easy mode to get all the songs unlocked, and then started working on the other levels. Just for a goof, though, I tried practising one song in Expert mode...let's just say it didn't last very long

The thing that sucks about any of the "Guitar Hero" games - as far as I can tell, from the brief time I tried it - is that it's biased against us left-handed people. It's damned impossible to use that controller and all of its features when you're holding it upside-down, and while I haven't conducted a real search on the Web, I don't believe they make a lefty guitar control.

If they did, then that (and the one boxing game I saw where you literally saw blood fly with the punches) would be enough to convince me to invest in the XBox 360. Other than that, forget it - I'm an old-school gamer. When I go to the bars, I look for the Pac-Man or Q*Bert machines. My dream is to buy a cocktail table version of one of those bad boys for my very own.

I wish I had the cocktail table version of Centipede

I'm not sure if the PS guitar is any different, but the 360 guitar allows you to strum up or down, so the main difference for playing the guitar left-handed would be the position of the whammy bar. I don't think they make a left-handed guitar for the 360, at least I haven't seen one listed as an option for purchase anywhere.

They claim that all you have to do is flip it over and *tada* it's a left handed guitar....NOT. It's not comfortable and doesn't feel like it should. We lefties get no respect.

That's funny because I have been seriously thinking about buying one of those for the past couple of months. You can find them fairly cheap and they usually come loaded with all the old school games...Joust, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Pac Man ect, ect.

When we move from our condo to an actual house in 2 years, one of the first things we purchase will be an old school arcade game for the basement. We want at least Pac-Man and Galaga.
