Other Recording Forums

Greyskull is right, gearslutz is cool, if only for the interviews, and ask a star engineer month. Some of the questions posed and answered were really good, like challenging yourself not to mix with compression at all, I think that was swedien, and then next month you have the complete opposit end of the spectrum, like charles dye, proving that one mans shit is another mans perfume. Although some of the posters are somewhat millitant, it can be agreat place to lurk, listen and if the fancy takes you, share. But be prepared to get grilled.

gearslutz is a sick forum. it really gives you a look at stuff from many different genres and its a great place to ask questions about equipment and such. This forum and gearslutz are the only two i ever look at so some more suggestions would be sweet.

Me to. Plus the fact that it's mainly metal related. The people are the coolest.
Well know (famous) metal gods drop by from time to time. We get updates with pics and detailed info on the coolest bands in the studio. Free kick ass drum samples and impulses. Specific info & tips on THE GEAR TO HAVE for metal with sound samples of most stuff. Plus everyone has a great sense of humour. (for the most part)

What more could you ask for?

Everyone give a big HELL YEAH!!! to the forum.  :kickass:

Just about everyone that has been here for awhile can get a really good guitar sound. It's really wild for an old timer like me to see that happen.

HELL YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Nothing tops this forum i agree....

So go on to your other forums i will be right here when you come back:kickass:

HAHAHHAHA ok let's do facts ok ?

i'll start:

Andy Sneap can mix so fast, flames come out of the monitors
Andy Sneap can mix so fast, he once mixed a whole album in januari, and received the recordings in march, and the album was released in 1988 before it was recorded.
Andy Sneap's ears are so good, He pwns dogs at a hearing test.
Did you know andy sneap has wings ?
did you know andy sneap is a demon from satan.
Andy Sneap can Master music really fast, that's how he mastered the technique.
did you know Andy Sneap mixes while he's asleep.
Andy Sneap loves bangbros.com ( he also does the sound for it )
When andy looks at his pro tools screen, he can move the mouse with his inner Jedi-Mixing skillz.
Did you know that andy knew that what you knew before he knew is a secret that is unknown to mankind for unknown years before the unknown knewing in the knowing of the human mixing expirience ?....... no you didnt ?

Haha, that's a really good point actually. The simplicity of achieving a good high gain sound is really astounding though... if anything Andy's shown us the power of a single SM57.

Firstly great sound, great tone Andy, yes you is the man...etc etc.

yeah, but it also highlights the power of using the minimal amout of mics on anything to avoid phase issues.

Did Andy ever explain whether he set his tone up in the room, put the mic up and then adjusted his amp settings or mic position, or mic?

You will have to excuse my memory, you try fitting in all the TesseracT grooves into one head and then functioning normally  - no wonder I have epilepsy!
